      Skye NEEDS to be consistent. Otherwise-it’s game over for her. She has fallen on beam three times in 2 world championships. That’s not good.

      Don’t put Shi and Skye in the same bag because they are NOT: only one is as close to be a LOCK on the team as you can be.
      Shi has not only proven she’s an amazing dependable competitor but also is the second best AAer (and medalist) for the US until now, not to mention her others strengths.
      Skye, on the other hand, will need a cheng if she wants to fight for a spot AND be really consistent on beam - an event she has a lot to prove on in terms of consistency internationally wise.
      If Gabby and Suni are in top shape, Skye even at her best will NOT make the team for sure.
      She needs WAAAAAAAAYYYYYY more than Shi to be in contention.

      I wouldn’t put Skye up in a three up three count situation because she has fallen twice at worlds. I don’t trust that she can handle the pressure. We can’t go to an Olympic Games with an unreliable and inconsistent team.

      @@mariahazcueta3621 I think 3 up and 3 down for bars and vault, beam I would too, given the difficulty even if she does fall, but she’s been looking better. Trials will be a good test seeing that will probably be as intense from a competition standpoint.

      @@mariahazcueta3621 I 100% agree. I think Jordan Chiles is the same way. People say she was so good at the Olympics-but the reality is she is a rock (usually) in domestic competitions, but a mess internationally. Even at PanAms, she made a lot of mistakes. She had three falls at the Olympic Games. In my opinion, she and Skye are both out of it due to past performances. It’s one thing to do well domestically, but internationally is a different ball game.

      If someone goes down, we need to have strong and consistent people to jump in to a lineup and hit. It happened in 2004 when Mohini Bahardaj had to step in for Courtney Kupets and in 2021 when Chiles went in for Biles. If Skye is on that team and the someone on the beam team goes down and we have to put her in I don’t trust her to hit. She’s shown she can’t handle the pressure.

      It's not just beam though. If I'm not mistaken, she had trouble on floor one time too plus, if they put her on the team, it'll most likely be for beam or bars since that's where she'd be the most help

      @@damnbreski has Leanne fallen any other time internationally? I’m not recalling. I want to see if she can handle the pressure of trials because she did fall at NCAA Championships and I would say that is a lot of pressure. There are a lot of names it could be, and I want to see who does well at American and US classics, and Championships. The pressure gets worse with each one.

      Lovely, but he only copies a " _latino_ accent" to makes them look foreign. Look at native videos from Brazil and Panamá of Jade and Hillary to see how their names are really pronounced.

    • @austinvanfleet3849
      @austinvanfleet3849 2 месяца назад

      @@maxvillareal9654 We do. Little late to this (it's my voice you're hearing/mocking) but we go through every resource we can, pretty regularly, to get name pronunciation as close to how the athletes themselves pronounce their own names. It's often very difficult to find videos of the athlete themselves pronouncing their own names, though, so we usually go with what native-language commentators say, provided we can't find that.
      Also keep in mind that literally EVERY language has infinitely varied regional dialects and quirks, most of which aren't terribly well documented regardless of where you are in the world - to the extent that those native-language commentators are very often wrong, too. We've found quite a number of conflicting cases doing exactly the due diligence you describe - so it's not NEARLY as cut and dried as you're assuming.
      TL;DR: Don't assume someone's an idiot just because they don't speak/pronounce a language the same way you do (which goes for literally everyone on this planet, not just people being rude in a comment section) - and if you think it's wrong, go ahead and say something, but 1: presenting evidence carries a lot more weight than pointing and laughing, and 2: if your objective is to actually correct a pronunciation (and not just feel superior by being right), you'll be infinitely more persuasive to that end by being polite about it, than you will by being an asshole.
