A few years ago I had an aisle seat at an ARW show and Wakeman walked right past me down the Aisle playing his ketar (Owner of a Lonely Heart extended solo I do believe) wearing his Wakeman cape. I reached over and patted him on the shoulder and I was shocked by how heavy and rubbery that cape felt. I'm surprised he doesn't get a heat stroke wearing it.
Hope to see you soon with my brother Gymmy. It's really a pleasure to hear you again. You haven't lost anything except your hair. Better than your mind. Say hello to Greg. I miss bands like WEDG. Matt
Excellent! I've been trying to learn those solos for years, any chance you could make an instructional video showing the notes in slo motion? And what is the chord progression after the 2nd fast organ solo?
Not that I was good enough to play with this genius, but I did, you should hear him play the solo from "south side of the sky", the first rehearsal I had with him he played it twice, without a single bum note. The room was spinning around. I wasn't worthy.....
You look like Anton LaVey . Bach would call you a clavier Hussar! I've played those two solos for years you obviously read it off the sheet music for going for the one very nicely played ! You need to go back and look at the music if you notice those well done beautiful ascending runs you did on awakened are done with two hands just like the intro to awaken in D! It took me years to be able to do it fluidly even Wakeman doesn't do it in concert! A good one for you to play my Anton LaVey looking friend would be of criminal record by Wakeman a thing called Judas Iscariot ! Please do me a favor lose the cape, there's only one man that can wear that cape and that's not you or me! Do you play professionally ? I like your dinosaur rig but give me my Kronos and my Triton along with Appleton and it's easier for me to travel !
PS one just learned by Wakeman is off of the return to the Center of the Earth it's the finale goes through quite a lot of modulating very pompous and very bombastic and very well composed as only Rick can do
@jeevesthepunk He has good taste. That section at the end of Awaken, with those chords on the pipe organ, are among the very finest moments in the whole Yes catalogue. Absolutely epic.
Decent, but the timing is all wrong. I don't "dream" to be like Rick Wakeman or Tony Banks, but I have learned a lot from them. I do my own thing and so should you. Keep rocking.
Love Wakeman and your real good playing !! Thanx man for loading it up.
damn thats fucking sick! hope you are still on this account
Yep Thanks!
0:50 - that bit always makes my throat lumpy! Great job and cape a nice touch.
I didn't know One-Punch Man could play keys (this is a compliment).
13 yrs late but this is SICK 🔥🔥

Sweet I really hope you can make it. We just added Going for the one to the list for that show.
You’ve earned the right to wear the cape sir
nailed it all, including the cape!
Truly great! Many congratulations!
Thank you!
Oh Yes this is sooooooo... good. Thanks

You nailed it.WOWWW.
superb bro, excellent keyboard setup

@ifly65 i think you mean the circle of fourths.
Yes!
You appear to have even more keyboards than wakeman himself
Yeah he deserves them more than me. I liquidated years ago and cut way back though.
@saarnoldbhm Yeah I had to sell the Hammond and the ms. to make room.
Good Work!!
Why am I just seeing this now? ... the "haircut" was a surprise until I checked the date.
what are the two chords at 0:50-0:52? my dad says they are the two best chords in the history of music, and I'm inclined to agree with him
Thanks everyone!
ifly65 MORE MORE! :D
What is that red keyboard on the top called? Also isn't that one used for the solo near the end of sound chaser?
Yes it was. Its a Nord Lead 2. An original run. The new ones are not the same...thinner sounding. I'm still playing it every week live.
Where can I find that?

do you have to crawl into that setup?

Soy incapaz de ver en que notas que es fan de Wakeman
ok, how do you come out from there? Does the misses have to bring your meals?
That was great, I just wish I could see the keys better.
@jeevesthepunk Your dad is into the circle of fifths. E, A, D, G, C, F, Bflat, Eflat, Aflat, Dflat, Gflat, B. All root no polys.
You look like Anton LaVey . Bach would call you a clavier Hussar!

Thanks I appreciate it. I dont read well, I learn everything by ear.
Tubular bells :)
U have a shitload of keyboards! U sir are a true Wakeman fan!
@1234567890solrac JAJAJAJAJAJAJA tu comentario me hizo el día! :'D

Are you sure you don't need any more keyboards? 😂
@saarnoldbhm Curry 'copter

I looked for videos of you playing what you have learned from them.
jordan rudess can do the same with only one keyboard
Difficult to know how funny this is supposed to be. But it's not funny. It's tragic.
