Thanks for the Vet shout out! I am a retired 20 year Navy Veteran, I am in the process of building my first Kayak i have had inflatable kayaks before, but this is my first build, I also live in Arizona so if you see a homemade kayak, hopefully it will float wave at me, LOL. Hope to see you on the lakes and rivers.
Nice idea. I like where you store your PADDLES. Kayak PADDLES can be expensive and PADDLES take up a lot of floor space or seat space inside your vehicle. With the bungees you mention you could also probably be safe putting your PFD's back there with your kayak PADDLES. Oar, you could put the PFD's in the storage boxes, which would be safer and keep the PADDLES in the space designed for them. Also love the ladder rack on there and the PVC rod (?) storage tubes. Good ideas. Keep on PADDLING!
Great idea, really like the simplistic function of the entire trailer. Some slight mods would be required for those of us that live in a less dry climate. Clearly you are a kayak family so I thought it was a very nice touch that you included the family in the build and video. My only suggestion is....stop spilling the road sodas. Oh, yes, TJ (Kayak USA) is a very talented individual.
Great idea and use of space on the trailer! Your PADDLES fit really well in the middle. You would look rather awkward if you were using oars with your kayak!
Kewl project, good use of space. I built a rack for my Yaks for the bed of my truck and now have it in my trailer. It's a work in progress. Anyways, I was wondering how the project frame and tires on the trailer held up during your trip? I just put 300 miles on my trailer without issue but I have the larger tires.
Hey, sorry for the late reply. It is a freaking champ. I have driven it with 3+ kayaks and gear from AZ...to Santa Barbara CA in insane winds...and multiple 5 hour each way trips up to Horseshoe without a single issue. I love it.
Ray Pintore dude I totally agree and I am going that way soon. But I already had the bungees and it was literally free since all the products I had at home. Also this weekend was the first test and the center is 90% covered with the boat anyway so those babies are NOT coming out
@@azkayakguy7180 concept is great, I just use a flat trailer for the wife and I. But my parents also live in AZ, so might buy them a tandem. Plus I have my 1st yak for my step son once we get him here. Gonna have to rig something that will hold 4. Yours looks like poss, standing up on the sides or angled. Keep putting out content. Cool having the family included.

Very cool! Nice job! You’re amazing!
Thank you!!
I like this idea, great way to have cheap semi-secure storage. Perhaps adding some struts to hold the doors open would be helpful as well.
I been looking for a nice box build for my trailer I like what you have done
Had to subscribe - Kayak fisherman from Boston here....
Yeah!!!!! What’s up buddy?!
Nice video. Love the Bruins attire. GO BRUINS!!!
Yeah buddy!!!🐻
15:30 y'all welcome.
Very clever! Impressed!
CookieLady thank you!! Real cleverness would have meant not redoing sections 10 times. Lol
Lol I just hope Sarah’s mom doesn’t see this video. Don’t tell her, ok?
Nice job, but as a life long HAWKS FAN, I have to draw the line somewhere.
Can I ask you what rack that is? I've been looking for one just like that. Great video
Great idea! Are those deep( tall) enough for the Pedal drives?
Did the hinges dig into the bottom kayak during transport? I would think interior hinges would work better but just curious.
What size tires on this and Max speed thank you
However with the hinges on the outside someone could just pull the screws out if they chose to break in.

No one likes a smart ass
Go team orange!

Go Bruins
Dion T yeah!!!!!🐻🐻
Why not just attach oar keepers, like most of us use on our yaks already. One each side, 3rd on bottom. Easier than playing with bungees.
