My first few visits to Phuket had each been in the month of November, so I had no knowledge of Songkran. Then, in 2003, I was on a long course, which had a week or 2 break mid way through, and spur of the moment I booked a last minute flight, phoned up Danny who had a hotel I'd stayed in before, and booked a room, and went straight to the airport. It was April. Totally unaware, I landed in Phuket during Songkran. It took ages in the taxi to make our way through the streets to Danny's place in Patong, and eventually I jumped out about 50 metres short. I almost made it to the entrance of the hotel, but two bowls of water later, suitcase in hand, I got soaked, head to toe. 'Danny, what the F is going on?'. Welcome to Songkran.

Songkran not only take place just Nana or Soi cowboy. I hope you recommend people who follow your video with a good Songkran. Place like Sanam Luang , Silom, Siam square. Songkran is festival for every age or family to spend time together but your place is not for kids or family

Not true about nasty water,Thai people don't have bad mind like you mentioned.
He just wanted to say that the water isn’t purified and can cause nasty infections if swallowed or gets in your eyes or ears - that’s why Songkran is best avoided

Pretty tired of every vlogger on RUclips showing the same water fights ! From you I would expect to show the religious and social meaning of Songkran by bringing us to a traditional ceremony at a temple or someone’s home of showing respect to Buddha, monks, and elders by pouring a small amount of water on their hands and feet, or a statue of Buddha. But no, just more street water fights 😕
