CANON RF 24-105mm f4 L: DON’T SLEEP ON THIS LENS!

  • With all of the negative connotation that comes with the "kit lens" association, this is truly an underrated focal range/lens. Check out my thoughts on the Canon RF 24-105mm f4 L USM lens.
    The Canon RF 24-105mm lens may not be as desirable as some of the other Rf L series lenses, but I would argue that it is way more practical. When utilized on the canon eos R and canon eos R6, I am confident that I will get professional results. The focal range on the canon rf 24-105mm f4 lens makes it ideal for a variety of photography and videography scenarios.

    Watching for the second time.. I think you are one of the rare youtuber who has experience of all 4 canon mirrorless cameras. So i have a question for you. If someone wants to make 1080p video at 60fps with no clog, just 8 bit, which canon camera will you advise.. R or R6? can you make a video comparing 1080p videos of various canon camera with standard profiles(no clog)..

    • @BCPCamerasTech
      @BCPCamerasTech  3 года назад +2

      I’m pretty sure the 1080p on the R6 is way better than the R. If you stick the R in cropped 1080p then I believe that you’ll get a higher quality picture than the full sensor 1080p. But it depends on what your using it for. If it’s RUclips, I doubt anyone will notice.

  • @joaoluis4039
    @joaoluis4039 3 года назад

    My Ef 24-70 lens is broken. The repair is around 600€
    I mostly use the canon R5 with the adapter and this lens and sometimes my RF 35mm
    I've been researching and I'd like to know what you think is the best option:
    Buy canon RF 85mm F2 and the new RF 16mm
    (since I already have the RF 35mm)
    or
    Just buy the RF 24-105 f4 lens
    (everybody seems to love this lens)
    The difference between the two options is just 100€
    I can't decide between this 2 options. What would you do?
    Also which lenses do you think have the best quality and durability?
    Thank you ❤️

    • @BCPCamerasTech
      @BCPCamerasTech  3 года назад

      It really depends. I think you’d be happy with either choice. The 24-105 lens would probably outlast the non L lenses but the primes will provide more versatility. In terms of image quality, im sure you will be happy with any of the lenses. If there is a difference in image quality between the 24-105 vs the primes, it’s not something that’ll be that noticeable unless you are pixel peeping. I’d probably go with the primes and make sure you cover the lenses up if your shooting in inclement weather.

    How is the dust sealing on this particular RF lens? I've heard photographers having a nightmare with Tamron and Sigma's current 24-70 due to dust getting sucked in to the lens due to poor sealing on the extending lens barrel. To your knowledge, does the RF F4 24-105mm L have a filter between the extending barrel and the main barrel to prevent dust from getting sucked into the lens? Or in your extensive use of the lens, have you detected any issues with dust [long term use]?

    • @BCPCamerasTech
      @BCPCamerasTech  2 года назад

      No dust issues with the lens. I put it through pretty rough conditions too. I regards to the extended barrel, I do believe there is adequate weather sealing in that area but am unsure of how it will hold up in a few years from now (obviously). Hoping that canon made the right decision to do this with there rf L lenses. Both the 15-35 and 70-200 do that as well.

    rf 24-105mm f4 there is no brightness in the picture 100% price shows quality! the price i like her and what i see in the picture is disappointing every generation! I used 4 months (canon eos r5 + rf 24-105mm f4) , I was disappointed. i am going to sell rf 24-105mm f4l, want to buy 70-200 F2.8 .

      The lens definitely isn’t for everyone. I take the 70 to 200 over the 24 to 105 any day haha.

      What do you mean when you say: "there is no brightness in the picture"? Is it because the lens is just an F4 stop? One could easily crank up the ISO, no? Or is it because you are not feelin' the 24-105mm "look"? Not sure if you realize, but the 70-200mm is an entirely different scope of lens and it has a very different approach/ perspective.

      @@BCPCamerasTech Why would you choose the 70-200mm over the 24-105mm? What about the 24-70mm F2.8?

      @@sonicvboom id choose the 70-200 over the 24-105 because I have the 15-35. Since I have the wider end covered, the 70-200 will serve me better for portraits and telephoto landscape. If I didn’t have the 15-35, I would definitely go with the 24-105.

      To be honest 24-105 f4-7.1 will do the job most of the times for one third of the price. It is as sharp and almost no difference with image quality. RF glasses are really good. I just got one and very happy with it.
