They just really simplify the creating process in the "making of" videos. They make it seem like they tried to make music that sounds cool, without puting much thought into it (for example making korean singer provide vocals for a chinese character's theme). This song is awesome, though reminds me too much of Raining Blood.
im agree that mick fanboys can be a pain in the ass cuz all the CellDweller and AtlasPlug songs unti this one where fantastic yet the thing of this one was that the original gargos theme was aabsoute perfection and they change it too much so they fail the only thing they had to do on this one was just remix the od gargos insted of making crazy crap even then im looking forward for other songs of CellDweller and AtlasPlug as they been doing awesome unti this one.

Come on people, stop hating on these guys. If Mick Gordon composed the theme, it would sound different. But he didn't, they hired two professionals for it. For me, I've been in love with almost every theme in KI. Give them a chance.

One thing I have come to love about Killer Instinct is it's use of rock-music, when most fighting-games use techno.
I will tell you what. Even with Mick being gone I was still blown away when I saw fought Gargos and heard this playing.

I agree with many that Mick Gordon was basically the touch KI needed but I think we should give these new guys a chance, this is not bad.
It isn't, really. It's kinda like that fight scene from the first TMNT movie (note: not the Michael Bay remake) with the Turtles VS Shredder, or like what Goldar from Power Rangers would've been if he'd stopped taking both Rita and Zedd's bullshit orders (or to put it simply, took a level in badass).
3:55 is my favorite part of this whole amazing theme, it amps you up so much!

Finally able to appreciate this tune since I wasn't listening to it while prevent Gargos from ripping my head off in Shadow Lords.
I definitely enjoy this theme. Like the character of Gargos, they took the original idea an managed to inject a lot of modern ideas and new energy whilst paying homage to the old core themes.
They overhauled him and still kept his idea and theme intact. Nice job.
It's like Gargos' KIGold theme and Raining Blood had a wonderful, heavy metal baby.

Johny Barrera It's lacking a lot of the progressive themes that the other songs AP and CD did on the soundtrack, for sure. But I don't think there was much that could've been done for this to expand on the tone, so for that much, I'm fine with it.
As they've shown with Tusk and Kim Wu, CD+AP are very much capable of composing good songs. This isn't fantastic, but it's perfectly serviceable.

Sad so many don't like it, cause this is actually my favorite theme in Season 3. Makes me feel bad for liking it.

Dude, I have been replaying his trailer for how many times lately. For some reason, I never felt this heavy sense of evilness since Fulgore's and Spinal's themes. I do not know which theme is heavier now! Gargos makes Kan-Ra look like a corny villain and man he nails it! One more thing, it is odd that I feel motivated every time I hear such music. Am I the only one who does? Oh well, back to playing some Killer Instinct! //Gargos laugh intensifies

The more I listen to this one the better it gets. There are some I rarely play in my car anymore (Glacius, Hisako, Thunder because the stage is so overplayed) but this one gets me respect.

Everybody that's complaining about this theme need to realize that this is the GAME version and not the OFFICIAL version. Just like with Season 1 and 2 Killer Cuts this will surely be revamped differently. Oh and by the way RKosmik? Nice video animation!

I think they could've experimented a little more like adding death growls or an ominous church organ or something, but it's still awesome metal and I'm glad it's mostly a straight cover of the original
I think most people don't grasp this is supposed to be a tribute to Gargos' original KI2 theme.

I know not a lot of people like this theme very much but the Spotify version REALLY improves upon what's heard in this video. It boosted the song for me from meh to one of my favourites.

This is pretty epic. I don't love it yet, though, but it'll probably grow on me after a while like Tusk's and Mira's themes.

How about petition to ask Mick Gordon to make his own OST for Season III after it's complete? Something like DLC with alternate costumes, but with soundtrack instead.
It was his choice, he left KI for Doom. Money talks, so he is not coming back.
But what after Doom? He might have some free time for the sake of KI.
He might also be DONE with KI at this point. Ever think of that?
Your mistake here is believing that Mick has a... for the lack of better term, a "special relationship" with KI. One that's apparently enough to make him willingly create a score on his free time. He doesn't. Or he does, who knows?

Ok, I was extremely bummed by this in the first times I listened, mainly because the melodies were nowhere. Now, I took the time to really listen to it all, found the melodies part and now I like it a lot!

I feel like there was WAY more variety in Mick's work. I can barely tell the difference between Gargos, Eyedols and Raam's themes. Arbiters, Tusks, Rash and Kim's themes are great but Mira's theme is so generic....I forget she's even in the game....

Killer Instinct has the greatest music in fighting games period. Awesome soundtrack. My top 5 tracks are KanRa's, Spinals, Hisakos, Sadiras and Fulgores.

Listen guys, Mick was a fantastic worker, he really was, but this theme is not that bad. I'm not going to call it the best (ARIA, Kan Ra, and Hisako's themes have it beat pretty soundly) but it's honestly a middle of the pack song at the least. Certainly better than that mess Riptor has, Sabrewulf's theme, Tusk's theme, and Thunder's theme in my opinion. It's tied with Mira's theme.
The thing is, it doesn't feel like it follows the music style of Season 1 and 2. Heck, it barely feels like Gargos' Theme! No dark choir or anything interresting. They keep using the same tones throught the entire song. It's so mediocre.
The General That's acceptable. I like your reasons better than the people who hate it just because it wasn't made by Mick. Upon re-evaluation it's certainly not the best stand-alone theme.
Thunders theme is top 5 easily.
I played this as loud as i could at home, pigeons surrounding my building becomed Eagles.
I'm so dissapointed that there is no that epic, yet simple guitar string bending melody over the beginning riff, like there is in the original and in that part in Mick's Omen/Shadow Jago theme. It sounds so empty without it, like something is missing in comparison to original. :(
Also sad that they did not harmonize guitars at 2:22 part... Original Gargos theme had 3 guitars playing the melody...

Oh good the guy is verry good, it sounds different than mick, but are still quite good.Man I can't wait to hear gargos theme!.
Aaaaand it comes aand its midly dissapointing, it's not bad but it feels empty, there's no contrast in the heavier notes, or pacing, Omen's idle theme feels more agresive thatn this, this was the big show for KI themes and they droped the ball..
At least the other stuff is really good

Darklurkr Polemos has metal in it. Village of Whispers has metal in it. Sandstorm has metal in it.
Yes, not a huge amount, sure, but it has "metal" - since we're referring to the guitar bits as "metal".
In fact, the only themes that actually aren't "metal" in the sense of not having any guitar bits whatever are: Glacius, Saberwulf, Orchid, TJ Combo, Maya, Riptor, and ARIA.
Every other theme has at least some "metal" in it, irregardless of how present it is in the track.
So you see, Mick doesn't have as MUCH variety as you thought he did.
