Thank you for watching and commenting! We appreciate you and your kind comments, we enjoy getting to know people through here and it’s always fun to see the same name pop up ☺️
Haha definitely! We are always getting a little cabin fever by the time spring rolls around! It’s always nice to bring out a pile, but that’s not typical for us and where we go 😂😂👍🏼 I agree, still a blast!
I am so purple green with envy! Miss my mountains. Sure do love your videos, your mulemanship and your great, positive attitudes. You're a class act....
Thank you so much for watching and taking time to leave such a nice comment! We really appreciate it 😊 We’re super thankful to get to live so close to the mountains with our little herd 🙏🏼
Great video! It was almost like being there. You know, the smell of the sage, the feel of a great saddle, the creak of the leather, the dogs having fun…Oh, who am I kidding, being there is much better than the video! 🤠 I laughed out loud when you called Squirrel a chunk and when he and Yeti rolled in the snow. Awesome day guys, thank you for sharing!
Haha! It was such a fun ride… we used to always hike around and curse under our breathe when we’d see people riding… now WE get to ride around 😊🙌🏼 lol yeah it was so fun to watch the dogs running around and enjoying themselves 😊
Super good question! We do a little bit of both… we save the unique ones and use them as decorations, and we sell the rest to make a little gas money 😊
I like the simplicity of your videos. I’m a mule man from Northern Idaho and spend most of my pack trips in the Bob. I have 4 of them. I love riding in Idaho but haven’t ridden much in the south part of the state because of lack of knowledge. I’ve been in the Frank and Sawtooths. I would love to discuss rides in south part with you guys.
Oh that’s awesome! Thank you for watching and for taking time to leave a comment 😊 We mostly ride around the Sawtooths, and central idaho ourselves, but we used to live in Swan Valley, so we did a little riding down there too. I wish it was easier to send a private message on here… you don’t have instagram do you? We’re Mountain_Built_Mules on there and we’d love to chat with you 😊 Thanks again for watching and for the kind words!
They are awesome! The focus adjustment is pretty fine and they don’t do as well as the Swarovski’s in low light (which we expected 🙂) but man, you don’t need a tripod, and I’ve glassed elk way far off while the passenger going 60 mph down the highway haha! They do great on battery life too!
The mule with markings on his legs is unique. Is there a history regarding the markings? Reminds me of some of the older breeds in Europe that I saw in a documentary. Have you done a dna on him?
Thank you! She has the primitive dun gene that many of those prehistoric descendants have. She is a quarter horse crossed mule but her marking are rather striking ❤️🙌🏼
Thank you! That was a super fun day 😊 The saddle on the white mule is a regular horse saddle and the one on the dun mule is a saddle with mule bars, specifically. Both saddles work good enough, but next time we buy a saddle, we’ll probably take the mule in to a saddle shop and have a tree matched specifically to their back. Fitting saddles to mules is tough!
What do you do with the sheds? Sell them or use them for a project. I have a few that my husband found while surveying on a job in the mts. I use to put them out for the squirrels 🐿️ to gnaw on and boy did they.
Oh that’s so cool that he found some while he was working 😊 We usually sell them all, but we have a big pile right now because we never sold our collection from last year.
You need to use a britchen instead of a crupper, safer and more comfortable for your mule in the steep country. It’s sucks to put down a mule with a broken tail.
I enjoyed that very much and yeah it seemed the footing going down was a little sketchy. When was this last year and I've asked this before are you guys armed when you're out there. We go healed in the woods here just asking thanks kray
Thank you for showing all of this beautiful country.

Mule people are the best friends for their animals. I love that so much.❤
Thank you! And you’re spot on! They’re definitely our best friends! lol 😊
You so far away and I cant visit you, sorry😒 @@MTN_BUILT

Nice job on video..

What do you do with the sheds you find? Is there a market for them or do you use them for crafts?

i just bought the sig zulu6 16s. waiting on them to come in the mail. seems to be worth the hype

Can we assume there is an advantage to using the mules? As in line of sight, area covered, etc
Haha well you can definitely see into the brush better and cover more country but we have found more on foot than on mule back so far 😂😂

Beautiful video. Wanted to ask about the saddles, are these "mule" saddles or do you find normal horse saddles fit fine? Thanks so much ❤

Both saddles work good enough, but next time we buy a saddle, we’ll probably take the mule in to a saddle shop and have a tree matched specifically to their back. Fitting saddles to mules is tough!
@@MTN_BUILT thanks so much for the info. ❤ that's what I've heard also is saddle fit is always tricky. I appreciate the info.
What do you do with the sheds?
We make a few things out of them and the rest we sell to other people who make all kinds of things out of them ☺️
We also keep a lot haha they are just cool!
Such a great video!!!! Love the editing, top notch 🫡

The Brown Mule with the Leg Stripes are you sure that it's parents didn't include a Zebra to get those stripes?
No zebra, she gets her coloring from the primitive dun gene 🧬 ☺️
👋🐴🇧🇪🙏❤️
😊✋🏼😊
You need to use a britchen instead of a crupper, safer and more comfortable for your mule in the steep country. It’s sucks to put down a mule with a broken tail.
That would really suck! Is that a common occurrence? Thanks for the input- we appreciate it! 😊
Fun video
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😊
How tall are your mules?
The white John is 15.2 and the dun molly is about 14.2 ☺️
Slicker broke ?
Clyde the white mule is great about all that stuff. Sometimes Reata, the dun is just a little unsure but she will let you ride her in one. 🙂👍🏼
Are you guy's ever afraid of running into predatory animals on your mules? If so , is there a contingency plan?
Not in the sense that we think they would come after the mules. Our mules might spook though so the plan is hang on 😂😂👍🏼
@MTN_BUILT fair enough ! 😆🙌
Love the channel! Be safe out there!
