Gotta appreciate Hyatt and Hurston for writing these down and now we can appreciate you for shedding light to both perspectives and also teaching that we use our full bodies in this practices. The visuals definitely ate! And the storytelling plus the knowledge was soothing. Great job.

I agree ! Field work is often overlooked and it is because of their fieldwork we have these precious first hand encounters and experiences… I do my job my taking the information and putting it into a modernizad prospective that is easily accessible, everyone is not going to read to through 5 Volumes of anthropology… thank you 🙏🏽

Being from New Orleans, we've seen many different aspects of African spirituality. And growing up Catholic, I've witnessed parishioners personal alters in their homes, mainly in the 6th ward and 7th Ward. Things have changed since those days. Even today celebration of St. Johns Eve on Bayou St. John looks similar but its nothing like how it used to be.

I have never heard the first part of this. It’s new to me. The second part was what I was familiar with. Great visuals and story telling.

Well you know I think it’s important to highlight all aspects of the culture… Hoodoo is definitely evolving into something more healing and spiritual but out ancestors were with all of it …. Like some of us today 🚬

This was one of the most amazing videos I've ever watched on both Hoodoo and Hurston. Thank you so much! I love how sleek and yet vintage the footage appeared. And I love how you still maintained the necessary privacy of the deep technicality of the rituals ...
