Your exceptional craftsmanship really pulled off the ramshackle construction backstory, love that the original builders just adlibbed the structural requirements, that actually happens a lot!
Dave, I just love your calculated ineptitude. I wasn't going to complete my On30 railroad, now it's very likely I will and I'll probably have two upper levels and-if I can still afford them, a couple of On18 locos and rolling stock. Keep up your genuine, drunken bush engineer work. It's magic. John Warner, Australia
I like the idea of a collapsing bridge too. Possibly creating a non operable track scene. Twisted rails, broken timbers, rolling stock in a creek bed!🚂🚃🚃🤔
Have you ever thought of doing a collapsing bridge scene somewhere? Maybe it would bend and warp in some places and trains would just barely be able to get across
Nice work building the Bridges in place. Seeing the retaining wall gave me an Idea on crossing on my layout where I need to hide a difficult foam area. thank you.
Nice bridges. Even for the two last ones, if you search a bit on Internet, I'm sure you will find prototype with similar shape. Impossible is neither French nor narrow gauge!
Hey, Dave! Love everything you do here on the channel! I'm going to be doing something similar on my layout soon, except I'm in N Scale. Do you have any tips for miniaturizing the stuff you do to a much smaller scale? Can it just be done with direct conversions (e.g. a scale 8x8 would be about 1.25x1.25 mm in N scale)? Or is there anything special that I should be thinking about instead of just copying the techniques verbatim?
Well, at smaller scales, details tend to "fall off" toward the vanishing point. Things like the nut/bolt/washer castings for example become little more than dots. You can scale everything down no problem, just be aware that physical materials can only go so small before they become impractical. I encourage you to experiment!
I don't know for wood, but it seems perfectly feasible in styrene, with the added advantage that the cement will be stronger than tiny drop of glue. Styrene can be distressed in the same manner for making wood alike, just the painting is different.

Nice and a little funky bridges. Thanks for sharing.
If the model railroad police want to complain about your bridges, remind them IT'S MY RAILROAD!!
Thanks for the show.

Love the new work !!

Very Nice. Take care.
Love your layout! Reminds me of Thunder Mountain Disney! Awsome work! ☕🍻
In the mood for bridges? Oh Dave, I'm ALWAYS in the mood for bridges.
Dave, your having too much fun.Very cool build.
Well done! I do like your jigs they work well. Thanks for sharing, David
Very Knott's looking!! As a N scaler I built all my bridges from the track down. It was the only way a ten year old me knew how!!!! Thx

Cool idea!

Absolutely Inspiring. Very Well Done Sir!!!
I love this layout. Your videos are awesome. Thank you for sharing your art.
Always enjoy your videos, any updates on the 'Riverfront Landing' modular section ?
Looks great!
Love the details, as always a great job Thank you for keeping us inspired!!!

Great video Dave. Have you seen any of Luke Towan videos? He's got a good one on waterfalls. Keep up the good work. Thanks for all the great videos.
Luke does some great stuff. I send lots of people his way.
I think the two other bridges are what you call an early version of a wooden girder trestle

@@pbyfr Yes, styrene is an excellent choice for the smaller scales. Easy to work with, can be distressed and weathered to look like wood, and no fuzz!
So does the Horse Thief and Nevermine Railway own both narrow gauge lines or are you just using the locomotives?
I'm just using them for now until I can get a couple of Calico engines built.
Hindsight, wouldn't it have been easier to have built the Bridges when you laid the Track?
I think this for Dave it looks a little more natural.
Not really. Then I would have needed to build the scenery around the bridges. I find this easier.
Hey could you make a video including every single ON18 engine? Thanks I wanna make my own models of it
