The bread being Ned's Bread means it's related to his creativity. He takes a couple bites and tosses the roll away like it doesn't taste quite right, in the same way you might discard a bit of music or lyrics because they don't sound quite right. And then the storms in his head (his depression/mental illness) also affect things around him, turning the buns soggy (interfering with his creativity) forcing him to start over.
That "Saturday" line is lore and it's real... kinda. In the lore, the Saturday music video sees Clancy forced to sing to the citizens of DEMA in a submarine (water's over my head) which is something that - in the storyline - he regrets. In real life, Backslide is a song about not wanting to fall back or relapse to a point where you feel unsavable, undeserving, or unloved. Saturday is a very upbeat and happy song that received a lot of criticism from fans and critics for it's upbeat nature, with some people even making the point that if Saturday is the kind of song Tyler makes when he's happy, then they want him going back to making depressing music; Tyler feels like he made a mistake making Saturday because it's happy and he doesn't feel like he should feel that way.
Seems like I might be part of the minority in that I would rather see Tyler happy. Plus I actually enjoyed Saturday. Lol. Tyler has been through so much, helped so many people. He deserves to be happy. And if Saturday is what comss out when happy, then screw the haters. Make more Saturdays! :)
All their music is different, they take pride in not staying in a lane. Him dissing Saturday reminds me of Lane Boy where he says some of the songs on that album are common. I love this sound. I also love that Josh was the director, so he decided to drench Tyler in water and leaves 😂. Power move 😂. ✌🏻
I think he did such an amazing job directing this music video and to be honest I hope he directs more In the future! I am also just super excited to see what the next music video has planned and how that one will sound.
I imagine he feels like that about Saturday mostly bc of the public reaction, but now on the lore side of things he really was there just singing while ppl were drowning on that submarine instead of helping them or sum. so it might be a double idk
Yes!! Part of the Lore. Highly recommend Heavy Dirty Soul, Stressed Out, Ride, Lane Boy, Migraine, chlorine, Trees live at Fox Arena, Fairly Local 🙌🏼🙌🏼. I’m subscribed and will be looking forward to you going down the rabbit hole
I have been listening to them for over a year or two now so i have already listened to all the songs but RAB. I also wanna react to live performance until there tour because i was so lucky to be able to get tickets to it!!
@@LeeIsC0ol omg I got tickets too in Indy!!! You have got to do a video blog of you heading to the show, leading up too , during and after!!! Would love to see that!! And my sincere apologies, I didn’t see you were already announced as part of the Clique🙌🏼🙌🏼☺️. I’ll check out your previous reactions & give us some likes!!
on a hidden audio somewhere (probably on the secret arg site) we can hear "Clancy is the new priest" the bread he's breaking and using as currency comes from Ned's Store with Ned being an allegory for his creativity. idk do what will with it but to me it sounds like he is sharing/discarding himself for other while having only bite of it before it can actually turn into a full meal
Not everyone liked Scaled and Icy, I guess Tyler is referring to that with Saturday. The buns are his creativity (or songs, lyrics) I think. Some are not so good, some better. Josh brings his content into the mix as patty.

This song is LIFE. A good thing about relationships and to say this might be my favorite, but TREES is invincible.
