6:00 she discusses this. the "back gate" is the international gateway gate.
assuming you're either a WDW hotel guest or a partner hotel guest, you can still get in, early. most of world showcase will be closed, except for the yum yum breakfasts in france (which, TBH, is the biggest bonus to entering via IG. why would you ever eat breakfast anywhere but france?).
Norway/Frozen Ever After will also be open, early. The walk is about the same as coming in from the main gate (but the line at IG is usually shorter than at the main gate). if you're going to GoTG, you might be better off getting a bus to the main gate, instead of walking/friendshiping/skylinering in to IG

Fundamentally, rope drop is going to work the same way at the International Gateway as it does elsewhere. So guests will be let through the turnstiles once they have cleared security, at which point they will have their credentials checked inside the park before being allowed to actually enter. Guests who are not eligible for early theme park entry will not be allowed beyond that point and will need to wait until the park opens to day guests.
Of course, there are some differences between the main gate or the main entrance and the international Gateway. The most notable of each is the location. However, it's important to keep in mind that while one entrance might be more convenient than another, you don't really have the choice as to where you're going to enter the park especially if you are staying at a Skyliner resort or an Epcot area resort. This is because if you're staying at a Skyliner resort, you will be taking the Skyliner in order to get to Epcot which will bring you to the international Gateway. Of course, if you are staying at a different resort that uses bus transportation they're going to bring you to the front of the park and so you'll be entering through the main entrance.
There are alternatives and workarounds for this. We can talk more about that when we actually do a rope job video at the international Gateway but for the most part, you just need to know where you're going to be entering the park and plan accordingly from there.

We stay on property and rope drop EPCOT as it's the best time to hit the big attractions. Guardians was not open yet on our last trip so we entered via the International Gateway and hit Ratatouille. After that we tend to check Test Track and Soarin. As wait times climb we then go into more chill mode, hit attractions will low times, explore world showcase, enjoy the day. The early start takes off the pressure of the day and needing to hit that big ride, but if there is a low wait time for round two it's a bonus. Early you may also find the JAMMitors so you have that going for you.
