I've never known what that's like, getting looked at like that. I've only ever been looked at like I was beneath them, or like a joke to them. The better one can do something, the more one tends to enjoy doing it. The only way you could possibly enjoy playing the piano, etc, is if you can play the piano. The only way to learn to play the piano, is lots and lots of not so enjoyable and uncomfortable repetition. its a numbers game...you live your life like this, just living life going about your things, just casually making conversation with a lot of people, eventually some random girl looks at you like that out of the blue. In that moment, your thought should be "target acquired" (whether you like her or not, in that moment, should be irrelevant.) In a numbers game, you can't win if you don't play...a lot (not even if you have looks, because conversation is the final determiner of your fate) Also, the more you like a girl, the less aroused she'll be by you (that's must how humans are wired, but men are wired to handle no being with someone you adore, better). I've never known what that's like, getting looked at like that. I've only ever been looked at like I was beneath them, or like a joke to them. Literally approached as a gag for their group of friends and having a big laugh over how happy I looked when I was lead on only to be crushed. I've been in the dark a long time now and become cynical and pessimistic at times because of it. I used to really try and work on myself for them and just meet with absolute and complete dead air, silence, nothing, no traction in the dating scene man. I stopped trying and caring and it stayed that way for a long long time. It bothers me to a point but I've started to work on myself for different reasons, more for me and not for them. I still stumble constantly and it's not perfect, -I- am not perfect. Time does interesting things though and it's been long enough to where I've accepted the reality of building a life for one, for me, and I'm taking it more seriously than I ever have. It's a bit late for it really but better late than never I guess.

This is how you play the game: You go through life making quick conversation with random people purely for the sake of enjoying random quick conversations. Sometimes its a security guard, sometimes a waiter, sometimes someone in a queue, sometimes someone at a bar, on a bus, etc. The only way for something to become natural feeling and to become good at it, is to do it a lot. E.g. learning to drive a car starts out feeling unnatural, awkward, nerve wracking, etc, or learning a language, or learning how to write, or play the piano, etc...with lots of repetition it eventually becomes automatic and feels natural.
The better one can do something, the more one tends to enjoy doing it. The only way you could possibly enjoy playing the piano, etc, is if you can play the piano. The only way to learn to play the piano, is lots and lots of not so enjoyable and uncomfortable repetition.

In that moment, your thought should be "target acquired" (whether you like her or not, in that moment, should be irrelevant.)
In a numbers game, you can't win if you don't play...a lot (not even if you have looks, because conversation is the final determiner of your fate)
Also, the more you like a girl, the less aroused she'll be by you (that's must how humans are wired, but men are wired to handle no being with someone you adore, better). In other words, any girl that any guy likes too much is an inevitable dead end...much of the time it's an immediate dead end, in that numbers game.
