You can point it at fuse panels to see if there are any hot spots produced by loose connections or overloads.

Got a little thermal camera that plugs in to your phone, really useful for finding cold spots and insulation gaps in properties. Not my day job, I'm just old and boring enough to enjoy doing that sort of thing.

The technical term for freezing is Non-Uniformity Correction NUC, makes you think product if faulty, but some devices you can turn this off, as you don't need to read the temperature for accuracy but to find problem areas, then it's better if this option can be disabled. You might find better options for small modules which go onto your phones, these provide a pocket sized device for the casual user.

As you mentioned underfloor heating, this can be handy if need to drill the floor to run cables, etc, so you know where to avoid (obviously put heating on first) 😀

HI Adam, Love the content can I please ask though when you do a product review its very frustrating that you order one and they tell you its out of stock and I would not get it till February, so I cancelled, not sure if other viewers had the same problem.

I have used one on odd occassions myself in work. For any tech nerds out there who want to know more on the technicalities involved with a toy such as this, then google the subject of thermography and you will gain a much better understanding of the wide scope of use for a thermal imaging camera

Hi mate, can you see through walls before drilling to check for cables and pipes? Same in ceiling or floor spaces before drilling or if extending cables etc. cheers mate
