my top 5 shows that stay on rotation every year (desperate housewives, pretty little liars, the vampire diaries, 90210, one tree hill) have been getting so many videos made about them on youtube recently and i’m so here for it!!
Adriana was my fave for a long time because the actress just gave so much range to that performance. Every time she cried about something I felt it. She sang very well. She was stunningly beautiful. She did fizzle out at the end though. Naomi walked so Blair Waldorf could run (imo) Annie was good too. I always kinda saw her as the main throughout the series. I was more invested in her story.
season 2 and 3 are not only the best seasons of the show, but debatably the best seasons of television on the cw at that time. this show is criminally underrated in terms of its storytelling
I personally have rewatched the show many times and I have noticed that so many black characters who were introduced in the show where either vilains or just completely disappeared which sucks because their only representation of a character of color is Dixon and even his storylines are not properly cared for not like...Navid's, Liam or Teddy. I enjoyed him always being there for Annie and I very much enjoyed his storyline in season 2 with his birth mom! So more of that woulda been nice instead of the boring storylines like the gambling, (which was never wrapped up properly or at all) the repeated Adrianna drug storyline...not to mention that majority of Dixons girlfriends all cheat on him one of them lies about a pregnancy...Dixon needed more attention especially since he was their only representation of a character of color and he's a main character
I remembered Annie's actress from Degrassi (a whole other rabbit hole). It's hard to separate the actor from the character sometimes so that was jarring
If you love Liam you have got to check out the actor’s time travel series. He’s just as loveable and fun in that one and there’s a pretty great romance
When you described Liam‘s personality as this actually-not-bad bad boy who is so smart but just doesn’t care enough to try and doesn’t care whether people like him or not and hates social events I was like oooh so just like Jess Mariano! And then you said „waaaait, do you know who he reminds me of?“ and I yelled „JESS MARIANO“ like the Leonardo DiCaprio-Pointing at the TV-meme and you just didn’t mention Jess but literally everybody else 😭😭😭💔
The show has interesting parts and terrible parts. Naomi was a great character to watch while Silver and Ivy were not. I recall really liking Max and Naomi's relationship and the Jen/Liam drama took ages to unravel. The r**e storyline was horrible but did make good TV. The original show is a bit the same, loads of off the wall random plots but also some great plots. The original show drags like hell when binging however, its sooo long in some places with mediocre happening on screen 🧐
Lastly, A huge applause to you for making this deep dive without doing a play by play synopsis of every detail of every episode of every season. I liked how you explained enough to establish your arguments. I see many creators feel they need to explain every episode which makes their videos way longer than they need to. They are entertaining, but they could make their points more concise as well. Am glad you were able to pinpoint what you wanted to talk about while explaining each season.

I actually couldn't stand Annie. Found her awfully selfish and no real care about anyone but herself. She a really underdeveloped character in my opinion. I kinda blanked her out as none of what you said I remembered. I think that the reason they made Naomi the more of a lead character is because many didn't like Annie. I did love Adriana, Naomi and Silver more dynamic characters. Unlike Annie these characters actually grew and matured over the seasons or had reasons for their unbecoming features. I actually want to rewatch as I genuinely do not remember it being like this. Would be eager to see how my views have changed in my 30s rather than my teens.
Loved this! 90210 is one of my favourite shows and I rewatched it last year and season 2 and 3 are my favourites. I hated the storyline of Oscar , Ivy and her mom storyline, it was so messy. I loved Naomi x
I watched some of this reboot, but ended up stopping after a few episodes to watch the original, then melrose place. I’m on season 3 of melrose place. It’s so amazing and cheesy lol. I was so young when those shows came out, it’s fun to watch now

The original 90210 was a teen soap opera especially in the college years. I guess the writers were trying to keep the same spirit in seasons 4 and 5 with crazy storylines. I will say the original shows soapy moments were actually based in reality, like real life scenarios but over the top
This show did Dixon so wrong , he's supposed to be the " Brandon " of the show but was treated like a side character . I don't like how Silver leaking the sex tape between Silver & him was glossed over or him being underage being with a older woman was handled also Liam being taken advantaged of by Naomi's grown sister was totally dismissed .....these women are predators ( not Silver but she was totally wrong ) .
Second, storylines. 1. The surfing team ones with Ivy, Dixon, and Teddy 2. Adrianna’s story in season 1 because it shows the tragedy of being a child star, especially with a horrible mom who used her for her money. I do not like her character, but hated how she had to go through this. 3. Earlier Navid felt like he was dumped on a lot and he had extreme empathy for people. I loved his storyline of how he tried to change his father’s business after finding out about the underage girls in the adult films. I also liked how he tried to create his own buisness in an ethical way. 4. I did feel that they handled Teddy’s coming out story well. 5. Naomi’s arc with Mr. Cannon. It was horrible to watch, but am glad they showed what people of r**pe and assault go through. Also, the girl who cried wolf aspect of it and how she wasn’t a “perfect victim” and he took advantage of that. Felt really realistic to me.
First, couples. I am going to say the bad bad thing. My favorite subjective couple is Silver and Navid. I actually felt at the beginning, it was sweet and healthy. And yes, I wanted them ti be end game and hate how the show ruined their characters in season 4 and 5. Do I justify cheating? No. But I can see why they fell for each other. I do agree Navid and Silver should have had a conversation with Adrianna and bringing her back down to earth, but Adrianna made everything really difficult. I felt Adriana, while she did love Navid used him to get over her problems and when she did not need him anywhere, she treated him like crap. Naomi and Max are objectively the best couple. They loved and supported one another. I am still debating if I wanted them to be end game. Were they just first loves and you don’t always need to end up with your first love. But being reminded that they always came back together made me realize how much I love that trope because they did not plan to find each other again. They just did. Their paths merged together. This aspect makes me want them to be end game because they di have the emotional maturity and love to be in a lasting relationship. Third, while Ivy and Raj weren’t the most memorable couple, they made an impact. I wish their story wasn’t sad. They really loved each other and could have lasted longer. They were mature.
annie and naomi aren't half sisters tho they just share a half brother. they themselves have no familial ties. also, liam is great! comparing him to hook and damon hurt though since i've never wanted fictional men to die as bad as i've wanted them to. i'm actually kind of concerned about your taste in fictional men
