Here's the kicker, lift the Hammer, put a differential in the front, add a limited-slip transfer case, make the wishbones longer, widen the arches, cut the bumpers and you've got a mad off road vehicle that can do a hell of a lot. Then make the engine capable of running on flex fuel, and as long as you defend your corn crop in the wilderness, you've got gas.

I would have chosen the 1986 SVO, it’s light, can be put on rally or offroad tires, and it’s fuel efficient, a critical element for an apocalypse, as you won’t find much fuel in the apocalypse

The only good choice was the Volkswagen Samba, if it's good enough for long drives in Brazil and Mexico, it's good enough for the apocalypse.
Personally, from the top of my head I would of gone with a Ford Crown Victoria, built in radio, bull bar, spotlight, siren/spinning lights, a rack for a shotgun and extremely adaptable and common.

Well, I'm guessing they didn't consider that gasoline (aka petrol) isn't going to be as easy to find. Many gas stations will not survive the Nukes, and the ones that do won't likely be getting more delivered. But yeah, let's build big ass vehicles with high-performance fuel gulping engines. I'm sure that 15 mpg (if not worse) won't matter at all when most of the world is destroyed. 😂
