The grandmother is blinded by love of herself. She doesn't want to admit that her family is a mess because that doesn't fit the image that she wants to portray. She is being selfish which is not helping AJ.
She doesn't understand that by denying that her grandson is obviously guilty, the family's image is worse than it would have been had she just admitted the truth. The family is following her lead by lying for AJ and they all look like psychopaths!

I remember this case from awhile ago. And what struck me was not just the brutality of the crime but the fact that the family tried to put the blame on the other brother. Even the younger sister testified in a way as to shift blame on their half brother. And I find that disgusting. The INNOCENT brother went through severe mental anguish after these two brutal homicides and all this family cared about was the killer brother. He is GUILTY as charged. And him getting married to this white girl and having a son is not going to change the mind of the jury. The fact that he acted so nice and innocent AFTER the crime means nothing. He was just performing because he was facing a double murder charge. Of course he is going to go to church, get married and bring a son in the world by a white girl.. All of that was done so that he would not have to go to prison. He was trying to impress this jury and it did not work. And the fact that this grandmother excusing his lies is disgusting. You only lie when you are guilty I don't care how old you are. If your parents are brutally murdered why would you lie if you are innocent? A innocent person would tell the truth and help the detectives do everything possible to bring the killer or killers to justice. This young man is a psychopathic cold blooded killer and he got what he deserved. His parents broke their necks giving him a life most young black children could only dream of. He had a two parent household and lived in an upper class neighborhood and got all his needs and wants and the way he repaid his parents was to take their lives while they slept. Now he will spend his life with black men who never got what he had. I only pray that his brother the innocent one can get his life together and find someone to love him and get away from that toxic family including his lying sister. That grandmother is a piece of work. And she never loved her son otherwise she would not protect his killer. And she definitely did not love her daughter in law. Hopefully his son by his white wife won't be raised around that family so that he does not turn out to be a cold blooded killer like his father. That man can rot in hell.

      1) The data from the motion sensor detected movement upstairs outside of his parents' room shortly before the murders FIRST then downstairs SECOND sometime after the murders. If there was indeed an "intruder", it would've had to have been the other way around as the "intruder" would've had to make his way from downstairs to upstairs to get to the parents' room
      2) He made sure to describe to the polcice the physical attributes of the "instruder" as closely as possible to his brother in order to shift suspicion that way. Unless he was wearing night-vision goggles, it beggars belief as to how he was able to get such a description given it was dark
      3) The way in which he tried waking up his sister on that 911📞 sounded so contrived and overly done as if to come across as an extremely concerned big brother, confused as to what was going on

Since they were underage at time, the grandparents are the guardians until 18 or 21, whatever the parents WILL stated. Even if AJ doesn't get any of the inheritance, his son does. AJ seems calculating and it would not surprise me if during the 7 years he was out on bond, he thought about this and said have a baby so there would be money for his young family and possibly himself.

I’d be willing to bet she she only had a surface level relationship with that boy before these murders and she doesn’t know what he’s capable of doing. He’s a sociopath and deserves every year he’ll spend in jail. The evidence doesn’t lie. He planned, he prepped, and he executed. The family can deny all they want. No one is going to lie they way he did because they are scared. He didn’t sound scared to be in the house with an alleged mask man with a gun. He never anticipated his actions from weeks prior would be known so he hadn’t prepared a lie for why there was a gunshot in his floor. In addition, his attorney and family should be embarrassed that they would suggest his brother could be the real killer. His brother said it didn’t make sense because it doesn’t.

Him not frantically repeatedly reminding police that a guy just left the house.. not asking how this could’ve happened or why.. just very matter of fact like yeah oh well my parents are dead now I guess… no distress in his mugshots? And they just killed yo mama! Psychopaths aren’t raised they are born and parenting has no impact on these innate characteristics. Sociopaths are impacted by their environment and AJ parents were there for him seemingly along every step but his psychopathic tendencies were deeply embedded within him.
Hence Mom described him as “barefaced liar” and Dad “manipulative”. They saw who he truly was and grandma and other enablers were instrumental in cultivating those qualities which Mom and Dad tried to curtail at home. Justice for Mom and Dad Armstrong as their death stop his psychopathic tendencies from flourishing onto the society at large.

AJ wasn’t scared or concerned at all for his and his sister’s safety the night of the murders because he knew his sister was still alive, and that there wasn’t a shooter that came into the house. The police actually had to tell him to go outside the house. If there really was a shooter, even if he didn’t care about his sister, he would’ve bolted out of that house to save his own life. He wouldn’t stay inside and wait to find out if he’d be the next one shot.
