You can still pick the tomatoes that aren't even the tiniest bit red!! Put them on the counter in a bowl with onions and they will turn red in 2 weeks or so (faster if you cover the bowl with a tea towel). The onions put off some type of gas that make them (and every other veg/fruit) ripen faster. I picked all of my tomatoes, even the tiny ones that were clearly not done growing, and it worked with them all. Worked on cherry, heirloom, and hybrid tomatoes. ALSO green jalapenos that I wanted red for siracha

We got our first frost in mid/late September, and our first snow a couple weeks ago. We left our beets in the ground after the frost hoping they would get bigger, but two yearling moose looking for some green vegetation found them and ate all the tops off them, so I ended up harvesting them soon after anyway.

I live in the south of Sweden and we've had a couple of frosts. I also have my brassicas out there and some purple sprouting broccoli that I harvest on and off. Also two cold frames full of leafy greens , yum !

Did you guys not want to throw frost cloth on for those cold nights since the next week was going to be so pleasant?

That definitely would have been a good idea! It would have been annoying to work around the trellising for the peppers though, and our tomatoes were spread out in different beds throughout the garden.
