That sweep is going to be pretty hard to pull off against someone who trains in grappling, especially BJJ. Much better to keep that underhook and use it to take the back.

Luckily I do this in live rolls and do this then!

I’ve been studying wing Chun and Yang Tai Chi for about 20 years and I’m also a purple belt in BJJ. I love your experimental spirit in blending the two. I do the same. With this particular sweep will not work on an experienced grappler that has a good top half guard game. However if someone doesn’t know what they are doing you could get them on this sweep but you expend more energy. It’s more energy efficient to keep the under hook and wrestle up where you can apply more Tai chi movements. Good video, keep posting your experiments.

Hello Master. I really appreciate your practice and I also practice taichi aimed at real combat. Could you make a video demonstrating this escape with an attacker attacking and moving aggressively? Thank you very much.

it's tricky for teachers of traditional martial arts because if they show you everything on the free youtube, then the student has literally no reason to help the teacher with monetary compensation.
youtube is a great entrance place, like you can see the principles, but not every technique is gonna be given away for free.

I keep telling people, Tai Chi's biggest applications are on the ground.
