Kenyans are welcoming thou not perfect but I have lived in foreign land where I was treated badly, yet I was financial okey, due to my beautiful and special black colour. I love being black and very proud of it
Rain is considered a blessing because blessing a large percentage of Kenyans are farmers and they depend on rain to grow food. Everyone suffers when there is no rains because food is expensive so they don't mind the inconvenience it brings and are thankful for it.
I’m sure you’ll will find both welcoming people and then people who are less so almost anywhere. Maybe you wanna check out the positive experience of this African creator in Finland: instagram.com/reel/CqYxogGj73X/?igshid=ZjE2NGZiNDQ=
Believe me I never traveled to EU and I never will. The hate for the Kenyan in non African countries needs to of concern. We should try be mean on them. Possibly make it very expensive for non African to even spend 1month here

You experienced the African Spirit, the Spirit of Ubuntu. It's woven into our DNA 1. Earn your living 2. Children are a blessing 3. Rain is a blessing 4. Community is wealth 5. Challenges are essential for growth 6. Comfort is the enemy of progress 7. Do no harm 8. Respect is earned (we respect Nigerians) 9. Own up to your shortcomings (we have bad habits amongst us) 10. Revere the great mother, the guardian of the masculine (we embrace the feminine) And so own and so forth
Wow, great summary! Thanks for your comment. And thanks for mentioning Ubuntu, I’ll look it up as I only know about Linux Ubuntu, an open source operating system developed in Finland 😂
Yep. This is me too. Working hard and working smart is the way to go. Every new place has its own challenges but it is upto us to adapt and come out better. ❤
I am impressed with your cultural learning process. I dare say this is therapeutic and gives you an extended level of cultural and emotional intelligence to succeed in the current globalised world.
Absolutely! That process started for me long ago (perhaps I can talk more about my other international experience in another video) and there’s no going back once on that road :)
Many thanks for the positive attitude, for attitude is key! This is a marvelous feedback from a person of foreign extraction. Your views, based on local in situ interactions are authentic, and therefore, valuable to any Kenyan who would like a real and unflattering assessment from the outside. Having personally been a foreigner in many European countries, including many places in Finland, I find your views on Kenyans quite interesting and instructive. Wishing you all the best!
I m Kenyan that has lived mosr of my life in the most northern part of Scandinavia since my early teens. I live so far up north that Finland (Kilpisjärvi) is south of here. Scandinavians are generally very reserved and not very open such that a nod is more than sufficient.
Interesting. I knew a fellow grad school student here in America, many years ago. You and her are the only Finns I've encountered in my life. Like you, she was very thoughtful. I hope she's doing well, wherever she is. Hope the same for you. Thanks for sharing.
Kenya is always amazing, Luo. Very friendly people. Welcome back again, and in case you need any assistance, you can count on this minister. God bless❤
@@watchman1thewaycher169 Who told you I don't love my fellow Africans? Where does this come from now? I'm showing my love and support for Luo just like any other Kenyan or any African brother or sister. You don't have any right to judge anyone based on your sinister perspectives. Even all this, God love you.
Our close knit culture is not due to hardships. Its because we value family. Even the rich place emphasis on family I've lived in Europe and was amazed at how family don't interact with each other.
Thanks for your take! I’ve seen close knit and distant families everywhere and in my eyes it often seemed to have more to do with how strong the family has built their mutual support - surely hardships also break a lot of families, anywhere in the world.
To clarify, perhaps I should mention that with hardships I didn’t mean just poverty. There are so many other types of hardships that a family may go through and in those moments I feel the strength of the unit is tested. And I’ve seen families in every country I have been to either grow closer or become more distant in those moments. If anything is universal I think it’s family issues 😄
