There is an easy way to check if slacks or a skirt will fit you without trying them on. What you do is take one end of the waist band (waistband should be closed/zipped) and put it where your belly button is, then wrap around to your spine. the ends should end up exactly at your belly button and on the middle of your spine, if it doesnt reach your spine, it wont fit, if it goes beyond the middle of your spine it is gonna be too loose. This really works, I learned this trick years ago, and works every time. you can try it with stuff you already have to see how it works.
Awww thank you! The wind is howling tonight, so glad I added the weatherstrip. I like putting a "fire" on the TV and looking at the Christmas Lights. I'm enjoying the living room set up so much!
Hi, I also understand about cold weather creeping in the home. I do 2 layers of the 1" bubble wrap. Plus over that I use the tape on window films to keep the drafts from coming into my home. You might want to try that. It works really well. Couldn't believe how much warmer the house felt. I liked your video, keep up the good work on your home.
Great suggestion, thank you! I use the big bubbles, too. Also remnant bubble wrap if the sheets of the big bubbles run out. Using two layers of the bubble wrap sound interesting! Thank you for watching my video, glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you very much! The Christmas Tree is fun on the table. It's like a giant centerpiece! The chair is very comfy, so glad I got it thrifting. Thank you for watching tonight!
If the curtain rods start to give you grief again, check out the Command curtain rod hooks. I used some larger sized Command hooks before they actually started making specific curtain rod hooks and they are still up after 5 years.
Thank you so much! Doing these projects to winterize my trailer has really helped. It's supposed to get colder soon and I'm glad to have the weatherstrip in place to help with the drafts! I'm loving the living room setup. It feels very cozy! Have a wonderful night and God Bless You, too!
Thank you for letting me know! I'm always working on something at home and glad you enjoyed seeing the projects. Have a great weekend and God Bless You, too!
Hi Sarah. I'm finally getting around to watching videos. Put in some small wall anchors then use small screws to secure the curtain rod hooks. I would put a small rug in front of the door. I'm going to buy some of the Poly Foam caulk Saver to use on some of my windows, thanks for the idea. I put weather striping around my front door but it all fell off. You got some nice clothes at a great price. Have a great night. God Bless.
Good idea on the wall anchors, Sara! I think it would be nice to add weather resistant rug to the front door (on inside). The wedge weatherstripping has held up well so far. The Poly Foam is helping, too! I'm excited about the jeans, they fit, yay. Have a wonderful night, Sara and God Bless You, too!
It looks pretty darn cozy in your home, and love your Christmas tree, too. It looks like you really do well finding items for your home and yourself at low cost. I'm hoping to learn some tips because most of us should learn to live more frugally...and with less stuff!💗
Thank you very much! Living with less is an on-going process for me to sort through my belongings. I love my little trailer and the living room setup is my favorite so far! Thank you for watching my video.
Make the three call was amazing those purple flowers are beautiful the first one you showed I totally love to have one myself and the talbots jeans are an amazing gift to they're very expensive look them up online you'll see, great score.!
I'm very happy with the thrift store haul! The talbots jeans fit great and I'm loving the rest of the clothes. Buying my clothes mostly from the thrift store is a great way to get quality items at a much lower price!
For curtain rod hooks use sheet rock screws to attach them to the wall and make sure to screw them into a stud that is what I have done and it works great.
Thank you! The living room has been moved around many times and I'm loving the current setup. Adding the TV set to the corner really helps. Have a wonderful day!
I just spent New Year in Palm Springs with some people who aren't 1/10th as happy and well-adjusted as you seem to be. I grew up dirt poor in Florida, and I miss my thrifting life. I fell into a batch of good luck marrying a millionaire lol but I signed a lock tight prenup, and all his friends treat me like a gold digger LOL. I would get nothing if he dumped me, and I would go right back to living my trailer life and LOVE IT!
Awww thank you so much! I love my little trailer and going to thrift stores to look for hidden treasures. Something I learned about having less, is it made me more creative with what I've got. I enjoy putting things together like a puzzle, to make my home work better for me. I especially enjoy vintage items because they were built to last. Thank you for watching my video!
That's right, gotta get these Winter chores done! Right now the wind has stirred up big time. So glad I "weatherized" my home for Winter. Thank you for watching tonight!
Maybe try to ducttape the back of the 2 rugs together and place a couple of heavy items on them while upside down woud help flatten them down and also try the corner rug stickies
Thank you! I work on projects here and there and it really adds up. Right now the wind is howling and I feel relieved to have the weatherstrip added. This living room setup is my favorite, I'm loving it!
Thank you! I'm thrilled with the clothing from the thrift store, too. The blue jeans are a good fit! We'll have fun on the food pantry haul video next week! Thank you for watching!
I just found your channel and I love it you seem so nice and it’s a wonderful change from the people out there that fake it for the camera I’m definitely excited to see more videos hope you had a wonderful Christmas 🎄 and I love the trailer and me and my hubby at looking for something like that nice to see that they can be made into cute homes
Welcome to the Channel! I'm glad you enjoyed my video! When I got my trailer, it needed some work. I ran out of renovation money so I did what I could and have done bits and pieces along the way since then. Trailers can be really nice! Some are built like traditional homes, others have a "retro" feel and can be fixed up. Have a great day!
Thank you! Thrift store shopping is an affordable way to shop for clothing, especially glad to get the blue jeans! I'm enjoying the living room space very much. Thank you for watching!
I have so enjoyed watching your joy and excitement over your Christmas decorations. I wish you all the best in the new year. I am going to clean out closets and cabinets in the next few days. Get off to an organized start in 2025! See you Tuesday.
Thank you so much! I hope 2025 is a wonderful year for all of us. I'm happy you enjoyed watching my Christmas videos. They were fun to make. Your upcoming projects sound like a great start to the new year, to have organized and cleaned out cabinets and closets! Have a wonderful day and thank you for watching!
Looks like you're getting the bad weather. Hope you're safe. If you want to check for drafts, get a candle and walk around with it. The flame will move towards drafts. Happy new year 🎊
Great idea on using the candle! Thank you for your suggestion. So far the weatherstrip has really helped! I'm going to keep searching for any drafts to fix up the best I can.
I live in a trailer and my curtains usually end up on the floor. They won’t stay on the wall so at my trailer I have to get somebody that knows what they’re really doing to really get her done.. plus trailer walls only can hold so much weight and if you have heavy curtains, they’re not staying up. I love that chair. I don’t care if it’s leather or not it is a nice chair. I would use it. I need you to come to my house. If you don’t mind please I got some things I need you to do😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 another way to check if you have an air come in your door is put a lit candle up to your door and see if it’s blowing
We lived in a mobil home for almost five years short by ,6,months you need to get a small piece of wood to put the brackets on to hold up the curtains this what my husband had to do Joe this helps
@Bitbit3427 It's been an ongoing issue with the curtains falling down but since I took the metal rings off, the curtains have stayed up! The chair is fun, and comfy. So glad I got it. Maybe I'll find another one and have a set one day! Good suggestion about the candle. Since adding the weatherstripping, it's been a lot more comfortable inside. These "little projects" really do help and lead to big results!
Hi Sarah! Very nice video and I’m glad you were able to get some projects done! (Thank you Big Man! 😀) I think your instructional videos are fine. You explain what you’re doing and that’s important. Your chair is fabulous and you scored big time at the thrift store. And…your pj’s are cute! Happy 2025! 👋🏼
Hi Judy! Big Man helped me out, so glad he did. So far the fix has worked and no more leaks! I'm happy I got the weatherstripping up as the wind is howling right now. I might have to bring in Mr. Turtle! The chair is so comfy, it was a great find! I hope your 2025 is wonderful, too, Judy!
Enjoyed your video. Your home looks really nice. You were right, I think this is the best arrangement. I too live in a small house and really like it. Mines a small ranch, easy to clean, heat, cool. I live on a very liow income. So being frugal has become fun for me and by doing so ,I live good. Happy new year!
Thank you! I'm enjoying the arrangement of the living room, too. It's coming together nicely. Getting it to this point has been a challenge but I'm loving it! Living in a small home can be a lot of fun. Frugal living helps me get creative with what to do with what I've got. Happy New Year to you!
Awww thank you very much for watching! I'm so happy you enjoyed tonight's video. I'm glad to winterize my home to make it warmer for the Winter season!
Hello Sarah! HAPPY NEW YEAR..2025.🎆🎉🎊💖🧚♀️🌴. I hated taken my down, but it is done. It looks so nice in there. I like the thrift haul& just everything. I look forward to your videos because you are very real& humble. You are genuine & funny& smart. Thank you for just being you. Have a great weekend!👍🥰💞
Happy New Year 2025! I think I'm going to leave my Tree up for another week or two. Thank you for your kind words, that means a lot to me! I enjoy making videos and I'm happy you enjoy them, too! Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless You!
I love a mid-60's day! I got a "Winter Storm Watch" alert so I'm preparing if the power goes out during the course of the upcoming storm. It happened a few years ago and wow it was cold when the power went down! I'm better prepared now thank God. I got blankets, pocket warmers, wool sweaters! I hope the power stays on but we shall see.
hate when power goes out..During hurricanes here in Fla.😥Stay warm& cover Mr. Turtle, or bring him in..🤗. I have big one on front porch ..guarding house!!🥰
Thank you, Tink! I'm enjoying the Christmas Tree on the table, it's a good way to free up floor space. The clothing haul was a fun one, can't wait to wear my new-to-me shirt. Have a wonderful night, Tink! PS - the wind is really picking up, I wonder if it might snow.
Thank you very much! Setting up my space has been quite the challenge and this is my favorite setup I've done for the living room. I'm loving it! I think next year I'll put the Christmas Tree on the table again, that's working out great!
Good job on all the weather stripping projects. It’s well worth the cost to provide savings both winter and summer. Mr. Man did a good job with the Black Kat roofing. The stuff works but it can make a sticky mess.
Thank you so much! I'm glad I added weatherstripping. It's made my home more comfortable because trailers get cold in the Winter! Yes, Big Man did a great job! So far the repair has worked and no leaks. Thank God!
Thank you! The weatherstripping has been super helpful! I'm glad I added it to the doors and the foam to the window. If I can seal up my home better, I'll try. Some trailers need extra care!
your home looks great. very cozy and inviting. also great job on the weather stripping. things should be much more comfortable with out the wind whistling thru. you picked some good clothing items too. see you on tuesday. have a good weekend.
Thank you very much, Karen! I'm glad to get the weatherstrip up and it's already helping. It's so windy right now. We might get some snow. I hope you have a great weekend, Karen!
I think the brown dress pants are wonderful looking I need find something like them for my new job. You have were dress clothes. And I just don’t have any. Because I need to black pants and cook jacket before at my old job. Cooking for the homeless at the party. But I still cook two times a week there . Just not even day . The door I hope been warm for know.have good night 😴😘
Shopping for clothes at the thrift store is a pretty good option, and more affordable than brand new! I hope you get exactly the items you need for your new job. And congratulations on your new job! Yes, the doors are warmer now with the weatherstrip added. Have a great night!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel on Monday I be looking at gods little hands thrift shop every thing in the store is one dollar two dollars or up to seven dollar. So I hope to find something there . I glad it’s warmer for you. It’s 19 degrees here in Indiana tonight so cold 🥶.
Oh 19 degrees is very cold! I hope you are staying warm. Enjoy your shopping trip and I hope you find some great items at your thrift store. I love to go thrifting, too, it's fun to see what treasures can be found!
You know that blue tape,we put it around the windows, and doors,it simple but it works, I think it painters tape. Stay warm and safe everyone, God bless you all.
Good idea to use the painter's tape! The weatherstripping is helping out and doing well. I think I'll address the wall outlets to see if I can improve on that. Seems to let cold air in, but I can fix it!
I like your thrift store chair. Looks very comfortable. Good job on winterizing by sealing up air leaks. Is your home a FEMA trailer? I was looking at some on the GSA (government auctions) website. They were in very good shape. Some had furniture and stove and fridge.
Thank you! The thrift store chair is so comfy. It's solid and in good shape! Winterizing has really helped make my home less drafty. I got my trailer during the Pandemic, it came up for sale and was great timing to move into a new chapter of life. I love my little home!
Nothing stays up on walls inside or outside of our New Moon brand..70s mh. I use HD velcro for aluminum siding. (doorbell camera, xmas lights) Clean w windex first. Inside really hard to get nails/screws into hollow walls. I use push pins. For side door that slams shut or wind takes it slamming against steps i put a metal door stop w foam head on step railing now door slams on that vs railings of steps. Also our plastic end caps came off of railings yrs ago. Ive cut myself pretty good a few times or caught coat..cant find caps anymore stuck white duct tape on ends. For roof or roof sides they make tubes of roof asphalt..works great. We had our porch joint start to give way essentially side of porch was seperating from rest of porch..had heavy windows. Wow could have been a disaster..but noticed the honeycomb paper type shotty insulation that was used back then..its no wonder these home suck up electric..we freeze in winter roast in summer..once we move out in a couple of yrs this house will be pulled out and recycled. Mh trailers like this are no longer made ..good thing!
You've found solutions to make things work, that's great! I love my little home and adding weatherstripping has really helped out especially as it's gotten cold. I like your idea to use velcro. Thank you so much for watching my video!
Good idea, thank you so much! It's good to work on these projects to make my trailer better for Winter. It's already helping as I can hear the wind picking up outside right now! Every effort adds up to big results!
Do you have info on how to find a office trailer? I need to find one and am clueless how to gk about it. Itd have to be in good shape. Im in the South so it has to be mold free. Thank you. New Sub!! 🎉 Happy New Year!
Welcome to the Channel! And Happy New Year to you! Reviewing ads for used trailers is a great start. Depending on how well the trailer was taken care of, can help determine what problems (like mold) to look out for. Thank you for watching!
That's a great idea on decorating for more holidays with the tree! A work in progress home is always a challenge. Definitely a creative challenge to see what can be done!
Oh that's frustrating! I think my walls are light weight drywall. The double hooks seem to work better than the single hook to hold up the curtain rod.
Happy New Year's Sarah. I was wondering ( and if its to personal dont answer) do you have a job outside of your RUclips channel ? Seems like a lot of work so just was wondering. Not trying to be noisy Just interested in if people do both.
A very Happy New Year to you! My Channel has become my job but you're right, it does soak up a lot of time. Especially the editing process, it's quite intensive. Thank you so much for watching my Channel!
Not sure if anyone answered this already, I apologize if so, but the word on those pants is 'Established'. It took me a few tries and squinting real hard to make it out, lol.
Being married to a contractor: I know you did it Right. So measure twice cut once😊. Ask Big Guy l, he will tell you that it's correct.Say to him from nall your fan❤❤❤.
Thank you! I am so glad to add the weatherstripping, it's really helping as the temperature has dropped and the snow arrived. My trailer still has drafts that come through the walls, but it's in good shape for Winter!

Hi Sarah,
Fun projects you did. Your bubble wrap idea really works. This is my second winter using your trick.
Enjoy your day 😊😊
I'm happy to know you're using the Bubble Wrap! Glad it's working for you, too. It helps keep the drafts down for sure!

I love putting a fire on the TV set! It's the next best thing to a real fireplace!

Thank you, I really like the Christmas Tree setup on the dining table, too!
Hey Sarah, That's my nieces name also,My favorite part was EVERYTHING!God bless you🥰
Awww thank you very much for watching! I'm so happy you enjoyed tonight's video. I'm glad to winterize my home to make it warmer for the Winter season!
Merry Christmas, a happy holiday Sarah sorry I’m late to the party with the wishes. Wishing you a great new year and prosperity with your channel.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too! Thank you for watching tonight. I hope this year is good for all of us. God Bless You!
My bedroom is cold during the winter with 3 large windows, bubble wrap does help a lot
Yes indeed! The bubble wrap really makes a difference. I like to use the big bubbles!
Your living room looks the best it has looked. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I'm enjoying the living room so much. Loving it!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel God Bless you as well..keep warm/ it's getting cold at night here in Fla.as well& only in 60's during day.🤗
I love a mid-60's day!
Guard Turtles are the best! Gotta look out for Mr. Turtle!
Great video !~ love your tree! Great clothes haul too ! ~ Tink
I like your little trailer I am trying to finish my little house having to do it as money is there.
Thank you very much! I too work on projects as time and budget becomes available. Keep at it, the progress will come! Thank you for watching!
Happy new year my lovely lady happy new year big man xx
A very Happy New Year 2025 to you, too! Thank you for watching my video!
I live in a trailer, and I use liquid nail on my curtain hooks
That's a great idea! Thank you for your suggestion!
Oh yummy love that plate❤
The snack plate was great!
Yet again, loved the video. I have also been working to keep the cold air out. (Live in Minnesota)
Thank you! I can only imagine how cold Minnesota gets. The weatherstripping is working out great! Plus the bubble wrap is a huge help.
Your traitor is beautiful I love how you work with what you have hugs
Thank God!
Hey mr turtle hope you are well and warm ❤
Mr. Turtle says Hello!
It looks like that weather rising is really going to help.
Yes the weatherstrip is going great, it helps a lot! I'm so glad I added it to the doors!
You did a great job putting the form on the windowd
And also the door
Thank you! The weatherstripping has been super helpful! I'm glad I added it to the doors and the foam to the window. If I can seal up my home better, I'll try. Some trailers need extra care!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel yes specially the older ones ours was from 1995
My trailer is around that age, too!
your home looks great. very cozy and inviting. also great job on the weather stripping. things should be much more comfortable with out the wind whistling thru. you picked some good clothing items too. see you on tuesday. have a good weekend.
Thank you very much, Karen! I'm glad to get the weatherstrip up and it's already helping. It's so windy right now. We might get some snow. I hope you have a great weekend, Karen!
Looks charming to me!!❤😍❤ I just want to hibernate.🐻!!!
Awww thank you! This time of year makes me want hot tea with honey and movie night!
It says "ESTABLISHED 1947" on the inside label
Ah ha! The cursive was hard to read, thank you for letting me know!
I think the word on the waist band is “established “ followed by the date. I can’t wait to see you in the pretty purple shirt 😊
Thank you! The cursive was hard to read in-person. The jeans fit well and I'm excited about the shirt too!
Always so cozy. Stay warm.
Thank you very much for watching! The weatherstripping is helping keep the trailer warmer, thank God!
@CareFreeLivingChannel Ty! Weatherstripping does help!
the Talbot pants say Established under neath and the year the company started. ;)
Thank you! The cursive was difficult to read in-person. PS - love the Talbots jeans, they fit great!
You can try alcohol to clean, then let it dry,it will stay better. It's get cold here in Oklahoma too.
Good idea, thank you so much! It's good to work on these projects to make my trailer better for Winter. It's already helping as I can hear the wind picking up outside right now! Every effort adds up to big results!
Who needs a man when you can do it yourself. Like you....I enjoy do things for myself ❤
I enjoy working on projects! It feels good to figure out how to do things!
Very nice! Happy 2025🎉
Thank you so much for watching! Happy New Year 2025 to you!
Have you tried using wall anchors so your things dont fall off the wall?
That's a good idea! I think I have some wall anchors on hand.
I don't know if you could find anchors that small to use behind your nails, but they would help.
Good idea, thank you for your suggestion!
Use double sided tape on the curtain rod holders then use the nails to hold them up.
That's a great idea on the double-sided tape! Thank you for your suggestion!
Some people make a valentine tree and easter tree different holidays be an idea grea job my house acworking progress as well
That's a great idea on decorating for more holidays with the tree! A work in progress home is always a challenge. Definitely a creative challenge to see what can be done!
the word is established
Thank you!
My apartment walls are this drywall type stuff that is old and chips off. Hard to hang anything without it just falling down
Oh that's frustrating! I think my walls are light weight drywall. The double hooks seem to work better than the single hook to hold up the curtain rod.
@CareFreeLivingChannel I'm going to have to try that. Don't want nobody peeping in my home. Tell Mr. Turtle 🐢 I said Hi!
Mr. Turtle says Hello!
❤
Thank you for watching my Winter Projects video!
I dont know if anyone has mentioned it but in the jeans on the label it says talbots established in 1947
Thank you! That cursive was difficult to read on the label. Love the jeans, they fit well!
Very homey.
Thank you! I'm enjoying the living room layout a lot!
Thank you! It was very hard to read for sure. Thank you so much for watching my video!
Talbots, established.
Thanks so much!
Talbot usually runs small.
I love the jeans, they fit great!
Talbot’s is an expensive brand so you got a good deal.
I love the blue jeans, they fit great! So happy to find it at the thrift store!
Good video 🫶🏻🩷
Thank you very much! I'm happy you enjoyed it!
Your priorities are in order to survive.
Thank you for watching my video!
What state do u live in? Must be south
That's right! Southern East Coast!
@CareFreeLivingChannel I'll subscribe..hope you have sucess in 2025...0
Oops u don't have a subscribe
There's a subscribe option at the end of the video, if you need it!
It said Established
Thank you!
It said Talbot's Established 1947 I think
Thank you for letting me know! That cursive writing was hard to read.
@CareFreeLivingChannel it took me a minute to read it as well. Didn't have my glasses on. ❤️
I would not be able to deal with those rugs in my home.
I'd like to add some flooring one day, that would be nice!
Be careful I tripped over my rug and snapped my big toe in two places. Alot of pain and money😢
I hope you are healed from that incident! I would really like to put down a floor over top the sub-flooring one day!
Hey honey bunny and crew are you behaving ❤
The Honey Bunny Crew got into some decorations!
Yup that is what bunny do lol@@CareFreeLivingChannel
Established*** word under Talbots
Thank you for letting me know! Looked like fancy cursive but all blended together when I tried to read it!
