xZANZIBARZx antonement is good. It shows their progression and evolution as a band without sounding the same like incantation or selling out like morbid angel.
@xZANZIBARZx Atonement is absolutely wicked, as is Majesty and Decay. Kingdom of Conspiracy is solid but not super great, arguably their weakest album. The Providence EP is a pure masterpiece
Their first two albums used the production perfectly, as in it suited the sound better than the kind of clear but claustrophobic mix here; this works for their modern style but would have not fit Here In After or Dawn nearly as well in achieving their otherworldly vibe
disagree. There haven't been any true 'missteps'. Shadows in the Light is a slightly 'lesser' qualty album (for Immolation) but their next 2 (Majesty & Decay and Providence) were absolute rippers, as was their most recent (Atonement)
I'd say Immolation is the only still existing old School Death Metal band with records of that consistant quality. Each album/EP is at very least a 8/10 to me
Like most Immolation stuff, this is nothing short of a firestorm.
Thus album and providence are heavily underrated EPs
Shame this EP is often forgotten.

xZANZIBARZx just avoid kingdoms of conspiracy, it has bad production like failures for god's but the songs seem uninspired on kingdoms too.

Zajebista!
Brutal Death Metal Art!
The last track sounds like it could be on a number of Nile records.

Geez, it'll get ya
you are right the sound recording is incredible on this long way from Dawn of possession, s recording! but Dawn is amuch better album

The last Immolation release that was not a mediocre, Shadows in the Light was the first in a series of miss steps.

Immolation fucking KILL live. They still do and are even better then ever
Majesty in Decay is a masterpiece.
Most Death Metal bands would be more than happy enough to incorporate the 'lesser quality' Shadows Of Light into their discography.
