Any 90s Subaru with the 1.8L or 2.2L engines was a fantastic car. My stepmother bought nothing else. She had a 1990 Legacy L wagon 5spd manual. Such a well-made and lovely car. I haven't seen one on the road in a very long time. I miss them so much.
@@palebeachbum My first daily was an early 90s Legacy EJ22 as well, and my first car that I actually owned was a 1996 Impreza with the EJ22. I still have it, just sadly in terrible condition, hahaha.
I just bought a banged up 91 legacy sedan for $650 and it kicks ass. im going to tear into the engine compartment and fix some of the crap going on. pretty amazing for a car to have 250k plus on it and still kick ass on the road. dont see many domestics doing that!!!
I had one.. ran like a champion to 200,000 miles and still had the original clutch. The thing that killed it was rust. Had it been garaged for the life of the car, it would still be on the road.
Uruguay. Subaru ✨ ❤
I owned a FWD (not 4WD) manual wagon version of this car and loved it!! Really missed the 4WD system, way too much scrub understeer when pressing hard but a beautiful long distance tourer with all the features you'd ever need.
I have a 92 5 speed with EJ18 engine, unfortunately it will not pass the regulation to be road legal and it's going to be too expensive for me to justify fixing it. It's going to the scrapyard. At least I get some money for it but it's a shame as its still really driveable and the engine is working fine
sucks i have the fwd version of this (called a liberty here in Aus) but awesome that its only at 81,000 kms! i have a vid of it on my channel if your interested.
why it is so dificult for me to fine a first generation Subaru Legacy sedan like the one on the video? I can only find the wagon version and the gt version but now this car for sale.
That's correct, and this goes back to an era when the Subie wagons were probably more popular than the sedans. In fact I'm pretty sure they used to release the wagon FIRST and then the sedan. Now no more Legacy wagon :( Sad times...
The one in the video was produced from 1989 to 1991 its called the "pre-facelift mk1" (I own a 91) it has the more aggressive headlight look , 1992 to 94 is the one that you probably see when you google the first generation (somewhat rectangular headlights). The 92 - 94 sold more than the pre-facelift, so if you're able to find one you got lucky especially if its an SS.
If any of you guys think this car sucks you don't know anything about cars my dad had has that car and it's really fast also it's manual and fwd also no sunroof or spoiler but it's really fast but my dads car is a bit different and the engine is I think my dad got it for free from his boss it's better then that one on the video we might upgrade it. My dads one is good better than the one on the video way better. I've seen a few of them custom I saw one with turbo and other cool stuff so yea.

I still daily drive an EJ18 Impreza and I have for over 10 years! Love 'em. I have a 91 Legacy wagon with the EJ22 as well. :D
@@802Garage Lucky you! I wouldn't mind having one of each myself.

I've got 470 000 km, and still runs. It has not a lot of horse powered left though
This Legacy is high quality model.

He's complaining about no light in the boot? Funny, my LX had a light...so the GX most certainly would lol.
I know that sound...

I think it depends on how many they sold in your country back when they were new... When i bought mine there were multiple to choose from

What was that car to the right when he parked?
Bit of a late reply but it’s a Daihatsu Applause.
