Yes, we did really see the Queen…from afar!
We were so excited to get out for a day trip to Windsor Castle. So many of you are keen to see more of the UK, so what better place to begin than the Queen’s official residence.
As well as Windsor Castle, we show you a glimpse of Harry and Meghan’s UK home Frogmore Cottage and St George’s Chapel where they got married.

Hello from Canada.So lovely to walk with you this morning. We did a full tour of Windsor again in January, with audio this time. Beautiful Castle with so much history from 10th century. Rupert may be too young but the Sunday service in St. George's is beautiful too. We drop by Windsor every time we visit as it is so close to London. Queen has been in residence every time.😊 Lovely long walk too.

Our last trip home to Scotland in Autumn 2019 ended with 2 nights in Windsor in a lovely hotel right on the Thames at Eton Bridge. J15 minute taxi ride to Heathrow for our flight back to the US. It was specifically planned so we could go to the Castle. Even in early October rammed with tourists (well I suppose thats what we were). And of course preCovid. But what a wonderful visit we had. So much history. Once you visit makes what you see for ceremonies on the TV make more sense. FYI along with Buckingham Palace and Holyrood, Windsor Castle belongs to the Crown Estate. Properties are for the use of the reigning monarch but not theirs to sell.
Another adventure for Rupert. He is so lucky to have such wonderful parents who are adventuresome. I love history, and thank you so very much for sharing your countries history with us. In your comments you asked about other places to see. Just wondering if you have ever been on the London Eye? It looks so grand and high in the sky. Keep smiling, be happy and enjoy every moment. P.S. I cannot believe that Rupert is already 5 months old? How time flies.
This is brilliant I've always wanted to go there?but have visited Windsor itself and saw the different coloured postboxes!!!blue and red i have been really lucky to attend a Royal Garden Party!!hosted by Prince Philip 🤴 who was Patron of an organisation I was a member of? I have been on the summer opening of Buckingham Palace!!which was very red and gold like you said?there was a lot to see!!a lot of walking!!not many places to sit down!!bear this in mind if you intend to visit?which I strongly recommend.

Watching from New York…Love this vlog! I’ve only made it to England once, we were in Southampton and toured Stonehenge and the cathedral. Can’t wait to travel again and come to London. Would definitely love to see more!
I love Windsor and the long walk. My husband and I taught at an international school for five summers in Surrey and went to Windsor almost every week--one of my favorite places. We're back in California and missing our travels, so it's fun to see you there! Thanks for sharing.
We visited Windsor Castle in 2016 and loved it. We were lucky to go inside St. George's Chapel - it's amazing so you must go again since you are so fortunate to get an annual pass. It's funny how we don't visit places close to us even if we lived there for decades but people all over the world come see them. COVID has made us explore places near our home in Vancouver Canada so like you we became tourists in our own city. Love your vlog!
When you come again to Windsor walk down Peascod Street, on your right hand side is a store called Daniel's its a department store over 100 years old and still going strong, with a toy department the size of a football pitch. Rupert will love it when he is older, The train track that runs above you and the brio train & hot wheels car to climb in - photo opportunity 😉

One of my favorite videos! I adore Windsor. You must go in the summer when they are selling strawberry preserves. Would love to see more sites. Love Hyde Park, Westminster Abby, St. Paul's, Hampton Court.

People take over 2 million pounds of taxes and pay there own private castle, so literally stealing from the public. They had to pay it back, bc it was quite a scandal.

Everything was perfect except that bit about Meghan and Harry - sorry not my cup of tea. Meghan Markle is simply annoying, full of drama and talking bad stuff about his husband family is not cool and so “unroyal”. She loves the privileges but not the responsibilities and the pains that goes with it?? Ew! But I love any news about the rest of the Royal Family. I love Duchess Catherine, Prince William and the kids. The Queen is a great monarch, so elegant in her reply to the Meghan Markle debacle. Otherwise, a very informative video. So far, you guys have stayed away from politics which is nice.
We actually had quite a lot to say about them but we felt like we shouldn't get too into it all. I had to edit it ALL out. 🤣🤣 I have a feeling our thoughts on them are somewhat aligned 😂 🤫 But as you say, we don't want to get political. Want to try bring some positivity to the videos. 👍

@@JamieandMegan What a relief that our feelings on the subject are potentially similar. I must admit I am biased because I am as obsessed with things royal and British just as I abhor anything to do with Hollywood drama and monetizing racism. People are people no matter how much melanin we have or have not. Life is imperfect and I can only imagine how hard it is to be a member of the Royal Family with all the publicity. This is why I admire the level of restraint and grace of the Duchess of Cambridge so much so that I named my child after her! It is a smart move to keep your videos apolitical. Otherwise, you run the risk of alienating half of your audience. Stay positive! Keep the videos coming!
