Regarding the "Pickfair" reference: Pickfair was a huge mansion in Beverly Hills owned by Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks. A few years after Mary died, Pia Zadora bought it but subsequently had it torn down and said that it was infested by termites. She later admitted to lying about termites and that she thought it was inhabited by ghosts. That explains Debbie's line "I heard it was infested by termites". Just some trivia FYI. Great song!
my two favorites doing a rousing cover of my favorite musical (High Society, 1956). Hard to imagine Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby singing this (minus the banter) huh? But both versions are great in their own ways!
Voltei a minha adolescência!❤❤❤❤❤
Red Hot and Blue. A bunch of cool musicians doing covers of songs by that 1930s ànd 1940s songwriter to raise money for AIDS research. I also liked "Miss Otis Regrets" by Shane McGowan and and Kristy MacColl.
I wonder how much of this song is just Debbie & Iggy just winding up and just winging it! I would have loved to have been in the studio for the alternate takes and experience the banter. It just sounds like they had too much fun recording this song!
No, but I’m intrigued now. Iggy & Debbie are so good in this you’d think it was written just for them. I also like the Thompson Twins version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
I appreciate they did this, my biological grandfather died the year before of AIDS. He was a doctor and editor of a medical journal in San Francisco. Quite a few medical people lost their lives while Reagan moralized, dick.
@HEY 4Q2 :D No chance! Repo Man is the one I had in mind, though my dimmer memory of others like Walker is that they were good too. Not sure how he went so wrong with Sid and Nancy.
@HEY 4Q2 'Sometimes people just explode.' I wasn't sure if Repo Man would stand up to my 52-year-old sensibility, but I like it now at least as much as I did at the time. It's hilarious and unique. I hated Sid and Nancy at the time, but was unaware that anyone else did. It's been very validating to find it so universally loathed.
@@trinatrice4003 Quite honestly, it's such a long time since I saw it that I only really remember not liking it. But the Pistols had felt like such an important cultural moment and like serious art in a lot of ways and I think the film utterly failed to do justice to or live up to that. It's like some trivial, unrealistic and not very funny cartoon.
Totally still lon to you both and all their followers. you Debra Harry and Iggy. Much love and health to you both and your followers. This is true cultural Art.
I used to work on Spring Street just around the corner from "Soho Gourmet" which was not "gourmet" but it was in Soho and you never know when someone might step up to you and ask "Are you gonna go my way ? " ruclips.net/video/vC_bFDPiqYA/видео.html
Nice to see two warriors of punk having some fun
She's not really punk, more New Wave
@@nottabot3843 She's the perfect combo of both!

All these years I thought he was saying "I hear they dismantled big bear". Thanks for this.
I totally believe her about it being haunted after some other stories I've heard other people say about it lol
I always heard "Pig Fair" and imagined some sort of a Grateful Dead / Hippie sort of thing 😂
Hollywood cemetery?
Just curious why your channel is called the wish or desire channel?
Mr and Mrs Cool
Strong John Waters energy in this one. They both make convincing down-and-outs.

Debbie, Kate Piersen, Peaches…some of Iggy’s best work was duets with the ladies
The beginning riff sounds a lot like Bowie's "Let's Dance".
Kravitz at 0:36
Though so
I love this clip.
Debby pop.
Never saw this video. Pretty witty. Always loved the song and a pretty good album too.

have you ever seen the original one from the 1950's musical? It was Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby singing it
