One of the reason why I like your video is I don't get the same books recommendation like other booktuber recommendations. Books that you mentioned was always books that I haven't heard the name. While when I watch other booktuber's video, some of them keep recommending the same book which I'm sick off. Good job regan!
Yay I’m so happy to see someone talking about the Queens Poisoner! I picked it up cheap on Kindle recently and I was really surprised, I loved it! Glad to see it getting some love 💕
I didn’t even think it was possible for a fantasy book to be under 400 pages haha! But seriously, fantasy is my favourite genre but sometimes the super long lengths and series length can be exhausting just to think about!
I always love watching your recommendation videos! As soon as I saw the title, I hoped that An Enchantment of Ravens would make the list and I'm so glad that it did. It might be more than 400 pages, but I'm super excited about Margaret Rogerson's next novel A Sorcery of Thorns!
I was just getting ready to recommend The Emperor's Soul! It's one of my fav Sanderson books. Have you read Perfect State? It's a sanderson Sci Fi novella. I think these 2 books perfectly illustrate his depth as an author - 2 genres, both masterfully written
Book Your Imagination I think Perfect State is more set up to read as a comedy compared to some of his other sci-fi stuff, but yeah, I agree Sanderson’s short stories have just as complex world-building as his full-length novels, and in a lot of ways they’re more mind-blowing because they’re short.
@@belleah5562 I've never read Perfect State as a comedy!! Haha! Although it does have its absurdist moments. I'm going to have to re-read it again with that point of view. Thank you!!
Just a small correction, Jude from The Cruel Prince is actually not half fae, but completely human - her half sister is half fae. That‘s kind of the whole point of Jude‘s character arc, her longing for power because she feels weak as a human among fae. :)
The term "fantasy" covers a wide spectrum. For me, The Wheel of Time series is THE epitome of high fantasy...bar none. When it comes to a single volume novel, my favourite is Weaveworld, by Clive Barker. It was published in 1987, and I just loved it. I'm drawn back to reread it about once every two years. Wikipedia describes the book as dark fantasy, and it couldn't be more dissimilar to The Wheel of Time series.
You’re honestly the only person on YT whose videos I can’t wait to watch. Although I don’t typically enjoy fantasy and sci-fi, I find myself picking up books that you recommend every time I visit a bookstore, and I’m never disappointed. I’m gonna purchase the Mistborn Trilogy just because of you and I’m sure I’m gonna have a good time reading it. Thank you so much for creating content that enable people to fall in love with reading. And thank you for being so genuinely yourself that you just draw people in with your wonderful personality.❤️
Oh my god I watched this video and then read An enchantment of ravens and I absolutely loved it!! It's the first book I've read in SO long and I'm so glad I read this book! Thanks Reagan!!
I really love this video! I would really appreciate maybe a video of how to read through the Brandon Sanderson books. I have no idea where to start or how to continue!
Did you read Sanderson then? If not, hop into it! My recommended order: Mistborn Era 1 first. You'll like it so much, you'll wanna read something by Sanderson again. Now you read Warbreaker, and then Stormlight Archive! I did not follow this order myself, but after reading through all of it, this works best.
Yaaasssss! I was waiting for The Queen's Thief series! I read these books because of your recommendation & love them so much especially The King of Attolia. 💖💖💖
An Enchantment of Ravens sounds so good to me but so many people did not seem to like it. I'm glad you liked it, it makes me more excited to read it now.
A.N. Lashley I think people were disappointed because it was falsely compared to the ACOTAR series. They really have very little in common and An Enchantment of Ravens is a thoroughly entertaining story. I personally enjoyed it much more than ACOTAR a found the characters considerably more likable.
On this list I’ve only read The Cruel Prince and The Thief but I absolutely love them both so I’m thinking I’m going to try out the other three. Always love your videos. You’re my favorite. 😊
I really appreciate your recommendation of a book shorter than 400 pages that requires you to read the 1500+ pages long trilogy that comes before it XD. Brandon is defiantly a great place to start if you want to get into adult fantasy though, and then you can move on to the 3000+ pages of SA and the rest of the Cosmere
Finally someone sings the praises of An Enchantment of Ravens. I adored that book and laughed so many times at the interactions between Isabel and Rook. The writing was beautiful and descriptive too
Of the seven mentioned I’ve read Three Dark Crowns, The Cruel Prince, and Furthermore. I’ll keep An Enchantment of Ravens on my radar as my next read :) Thanks for the recommendations !!!
Poison Study (Study Trilogy) by Maria V Snyder is also very short and really good and Truthwitch (The Witchlands Series) by Susan Dennard I believe is also under 400 pages
I started reading The Thief series toward the end of last year and I loved it. I only started reading it because of you.❤ I still need to finish the series hopefully I get to it this year. I also love the Three Dark Crown series I can't wait for the last book.❤
Hey Reagan, just a friendly note that the Three Dark Crown book wasn’t mentioned in the down-bar 😇. Loved the video! Totally recommend reading The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh, which is 395pgs. It doesn’t start of with a lot of fantasy, but it gets there ;). The story is so good and the ending is absolutely phenomenal!
The thief surprised me how good it is. I’m taking a break after book 3 cause I want to read 4 and 5 rugby before 6 comes out.and yes it is funny and very clever, like Oceans 11 clever twists.
I loved The Cruel Prince!! It’s full of twists and surprises and it has such an interesting and intricate world. I love that it’s set in the modern world as well but in a world of itself. And the sequel... UGH! Too good. Can’t wait for The Queen of Nothing.
The silo series (trilogy) is still one of my all time favorite and it’s also one of the most unique. Time waves trilogy was also very cool. And lastly Legend trilogy by Marie Lu. On her Young Elites trilogy now.
Holly Perrett, I just read it as well but I feel like I didn’t know the characters as well as I could have because I wasn’t super connected with them. I loved the concept, but it was super predictable. What do you think?
@@avadelarosa6839 I do agree to some extent but I feel like that is the case for a lot of books at the beginning of a series, so I'm excited to read the other books and hopefully get to know the characters more and have a more developed plot
Scarlett lost in the five lands by rajendra sarilla is a good short fantasy book. Its about a fifteen year old warrior princess called scarlett that ends up in a different world where society is divided into four races based on skin colours - blue, pale, brown, and silver. What i loved most about the book were powerful female characters and brilliant action scenes. It's a fast paced novel with just 170 pages. This book is so good that it may become a big hollywood movie in future if it gets enough attention. I read it on kindle since paperback was not available in foreign countries
“This is just me trying to trick you.” Love Sanderson’s books so much! I really want to pick up the second era Mistborn series ever since I finished the first three books. Thank you for the suggestions length definitely can help me make a decision to pick up a book or not. 😊

A classic fantasy would be the Narnia series. All of the books are really short and has an amazing audiobook!
True, but I think a lot of people think of them as a “series”.
aren't audio books just someone reading the book to you?

Another short Brandon Sanderson story: The Emperor’s Soul it’s a stand-alone novella and one of my fave stories by him
