    00:55 NIYO benefits & drawbacks
    04:25 BookMyForex benefits & drawbacks
    06:49 3 hacks to save your money while you are travelling
    This video is made only for educational purpose and not for promotional purpose, after using these two credit cards personally on my 10 day trip to Europe.
    Trip Itinerary: www.europamundo.com/eng/tour_...
    Conclusion: NIYO is better if you plan to travel multiple countries. BMF is better is you are planning only in 1 country. Best option is to have both and some local currency cash in place.
    Also, I found this article / Linkedin Post regarding NIYO card(s). For some additional information please:

    Some additional points:
    1. NIYO Debit and Credit Card can be used to get FREE international lounge access at Indian airports.
    2. As per reviews, International transactions are banned only for Niyo SBM debit cards. Niyo DCB and Equitas can be used in both - ATM & during online transactions internationally.
    3. ATM withdrawal charges for NIYO card(s) are mentioned in first question of FAQ section on this page: goniyo.com/
    4. BMF is taking some Rs.150-250 as service charges for issuing a Prepaid Card.
    5. For getting currency notes from BMF card, you will be charged Rs.150/- as service charges + 18% GST of 1% of FOREX value. For example, if you want to get 400 euros cash @ 91rs exchange, then around 36600rs is the total forex value. Extra charges that we pay are 18% of 1% of Rs.36,600/- = Rs.65 + Rs.150/-.
    6. Cash withdrawal charges from BMF card varies from country to country. Here is the link for that reference: www.bookmyforex.com/ybl-schedule-of-charges/

      If only single currency conversion then Bookmyforex card is fine else Niyo. Further Niyo SBM Debit Card is waste and credit card has FD based limit which is not useful for bigger transactions . Best is to have Niyo Equitas Debit Card. Load INR as per requirement and gives flexibility to spend in multiple currencies.

    • @finvestomate
      @finvestomate  10 месяцев назад

      I have not used DCM and Equitas personally, so carry limited knowledge on that note.
      No, you cannot load / withdraw money apart from FD for increasing CC limit. It acts like a CC, and FD amount acts as the CC limit.
      BMF related details are mentioned in pinned comment.

  • @ajinkyamasurkar
    @ajinkyamasurkar 20 часов назад +1

    @finvestomate Thanks for the most useful video available out there.. I have a query.. you said always select local currency on POS machine to avoid markup fees.. but in one of the comments on your other video on BMF card, you said you had EUR currency in the card and you selected to pay in Turkey's local currency... and there were extra charges involved. So as a bottomline, should we select currency of the card to avoid charges?

    • @finvestomate
      @finvestomate  19 часов назад

      So, the first point of selecting a local currency holds true.
      The second scenario which you mentioned, in that case...I had to pay a markup fees was because I had EUR in my BMF card, and I selected TURKEY currency in POS machine. Now since I had only EUR loaded in BMF, it was the mark up fees that got deducted by BMF to convert the TURKEY Currency to EUR.

      Yes, it usually takes this much time to load money in BMF, because every time we are adding money, they are asking docs like visa and passport. I suggest load a good amount in one go. Keep NIYO & some cash as well as a backup.
      ICICI & HDFC forex cards are also good, however they have a bit higher forex rate than NIYO and BMF.
      P.s. Do check out my new video on retirement planning. I assure you that is different from all the videos we see related to this topic.

      NIYO is a credit card. So whatever amount is spent, just pay your bills. In BMF, you need a minimum of 20k INR in your account while unloading your money back to account.

    Quick question: how do the currency rates compare between both these cards. I know Niyo has a floating rate whereas BMF as a spot rate.
    But on average, how much did they vary compared to the rate on something like Google Finance if you happened to notice.

    What are the cash withdrawal rates and any rates to load money for BMF card?

    • @finvestomate
      @finvestomate  11 месяцев назад

      Load money rates.
      18% of 1% of total value in INR.
      E.g. If you want to load 400euros with exchange rate considered as 1euro = 91.63rs, then total value becomes around Rs.36600/-
      1% = 366, 18% of 366 = 65
      This is what is paid to BMF as extra charges to load the money
      Withdrawal rates are around 150-200rs.

    I have a questions about Niyo Global Credit by SBM
    1. Niyo global credit card se payment krni ho dubai mein shop owner ko 1Lac+ ki toh kya Swipe machine se kr skte hai payment? (If FD amount 5000 Rs on Credit card). Baki ke prepay krke credit card ko means load money from savings account of 1lac rupees.. Aise ho jayegi payment??
    2. Toh kya mujhe TCS lge ga??

    • @finvestomate
      @finvestomate  10 месяцев назад

      1. No, this is not possible because your CC limit is Rs.5,000/-. Loading money is not an option in NIYO. It is a credit card, whatever you pay, the bill will be generated of same amount. But the maximum that you will be able to spend thru' NIYO in one transactions is Rs.5000/-. Better load Rs.1lac in Dirham in BMF card and do this transaction.
      2. TCS is when you are sending money from India to foreign land. I have made a separate video regarding the updated TCS rules. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/mFxWyoUkNeg/видео.htmlsi=weEQgFfcp7Kk7JhK
      If you are doing payment from India, then TCS rules are applicable. If you are spending on Dubai land, then no.

    • @maheepsingh6350
      @maheepsingh6350 10 месяцев назад

      @@finvestomate 1. Before generate the bill, we will pay in advance amount 1lac rupees to credit card, then amount will shows in negative. So that amount we will use by swipe machine, tap & pay. For example - FD amount 5000 Rs nd we pay in advance 1lac Rs, so my new limit will be 1,05,000, but my withdrawal limit = FD amount
      2. If i book tourist attractions tickets in india through online payment before going to foreign then TCS will applicable? nd how much TCS will apply?

    • @finvestomate
      @finvestomate  10 месяцев назад

      1. Yes, in this case, you have to swipe 5000*20 times to pay that 1 lac bill, if shopkeeper is willing for it.
      2. Yes, then 20% are the TCS charges. Please see the video for which link is shared in above comment. That carries all the updated details.
