Thank you for a very informative session. I am grandmother who is trying to give my struggling grandson some tools to life that are sorely missing. His parents, as many are, are time poor and try their best but, in my opinion, he may slip through their hands. In an effort to counteract this, and with their permission, I have embarked on an on line weekly teaching session with my 10 yo grandson (we are in different cities) to teach him wisdom.
I recently felt to look into more of C S Lewis writings and, The Abolition of Man was the first one I came across.
What you have shared here is invaluable. The loss of the value of absolute truth in society is concerning. The value of wisdom and the moral law or Tau that Lewis refers to is disappearing at a phenomenal rate.
I am not an academic but just a grandmother who wants to help her grandson navigate life before he reaches those difficult years where the ears cease to listen.
Is there a book or other form of information that you can suggest to help me (and perhaps others) to attempt to reverse this insidious move in society away from the Tau. I am Christian and live in Sydney, Australia. I am not aware of schools teaching what was mentioned in this session, so this is part of my meagre attempt to help my grandson. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks making your discussions available.

C's Lewis Mere Christianity is really good. So is Pilgrims Progress, though, those may be a bit much for a 10 year old. CS Lewis also has the 3 space fiction books called Pelandria, I think...

@@joshdavidian thanks, I have both those books but thought Mere Christianity to be a bit too much, but I could pick through it. I find a good kids version of Pilgrim's Progress over in a clothing bin and kept it to read to him as well. Unfortunately, he got a little bored with it. I thought it was great :)
