It's 2023. This guy still is doing all his stunts. He has respect for people. And most of the time he is respectful and if you look at his interviews his always friendly. I live in South Africa. He was doing a film here. He spoke to the local people and he was always friendly.
Regardless of how you may feel about Tom Cruise, the fact that he actually took vocal lessons and had the guts to sing one of the greatest rock songs of all time is freaking amazing. Name me at least one other actor who would have had the guts to do that. And what I especially love about this scene is that you can tell Tom Cruise is having the time of his life singing this. Jesus, the passion alone in this scene sells it for me. And that, my friends, is what the 80s was about.

Yeah when I think of the stuff Tom’s done in the name of acting… learning to fly a chopper; free rock climbing (I think that’s what it’s called…. Like at the start of MI2); the crazy, pro-level stunts driving for an endless number of bike/car chases; the list of things he’s done, where most other actors would be like “nah, we’ll get a guy in to do that.. it’s hard, dangerous work..” is nearly endless. Whatever someone thinks of him as an actor (I think he’s great btw), there’s no denying his dedication and balls!! Kudos!
I remember seeing this in the theater, it was a packed house. The audience was in awe of Tom just like I was. He was captivating, sexy and charismatic, it was incredible to see him let loose. Phenomenal performance.
I have never been a huge fan of Tom Cruise; however, I can not deny that he is willing to try anything for his craft and pretty much always succeeds too!!

Whatever you say about him, he was incredible in this movie. Wow I’m surprised that he just went to become a rock ‘n’ roll singer of a sept an actor because as I say incredible.
Led zeppelin that actually made and sang this song originally were at the back of the crowd watching him do this performance during the recording of this scene and they were blown away and so proud that he did their music justice in his singing and physical performance he didn't even know at the time of filming this scene that the actual Led Zeppelin band were watching him doing the performance as it was being recorded. I do think it might of been good to carve a glimpse of 1 or 2 of the original led Zeppelin in the film at the back as 'groupies' in the film as a cameo but they loved watching him during filming this scene with their own song iv seen the clip on utube of them watching and talking about it. It's amazing tbh ❤
It wasn't until 10+ years after this came out that I found out it was filmed less than 20 minutes from my house and what we call "garbage mountain" locally was used as the hollywood sign lol... blew my mind when I found out that was revolution live and the hard rock casino in these scenes.. I literally ran a booth in hard rock live where they filmed the concert scenes... its surreal lol.
Never did like musicals but this and the performance from Tom Cruise has to be one of his best I've ever seen. The vocals are just on point🎉🎉🎉. Still can't believe he was 50 for the movie. Just amazing 👏

making this more impressive by Cruise is that in the back of club where they filmed this was the members of Def Leppard watching him. After the scene was filmed they got to hang out . Cruise said he was about to puke with them watching his performance. Def Leppard were blown away watching him

I knew it wasn't a lip sync as soon as the first words came out of his mouth. Joe Elliott's raspy singing voice in the original is so distinctive that once you've heard it enough times and it sticks in your brain you immediately can tell when it's someone else. Or maybe that's just me. :P
This performance was a major surprise to me. I always knew the man was good......this was incredible!!!!! I don't have to agree with his personal life choices but DAMN ----HE CAN ACT. And kinda make fun of himself along the way.
I want to know how many women were in the front row and faking it at that moment. Because I don't think there was very many. Tom Cruise does action movies because he could show off his physical limits at his age. But when it comes to the actual acting, he can do that too. Look, I know, the man has his detractors. Some people just don't like him and they can't be helped except by professionals. What this boils down to is, he basically made himself into the lovechild of Axl Rose and Joan Jett so flawlessly that he learned to play the guitar and sing in a rock 'n' roll way when he didn't have any experience! He made himself a rockstar for one movie! Do you honestly think this man couldn't make it on a big stage? That if he actually made Arsenal real, rockers and metalheads the world over would flock to their concerts? I would!

Tom is such a great actor. He is so versatile and pours his heart and soul into every role he plays. I love him so much.

Led zeppelin that actually made and sang this song originally were at the back of the crowd watching him do this performance during the recording of this scene and they were blown away and so proud that he did their music justice in his singing and physical performance he didn't even know at the time of filming this scene that the actual Led Zeppelin band were watching him doing the performance as it was being recorded. I do think it might of been good to carve a glimpse of 1 or 2 of the original led Zeppelin in the film at the back as 'groupies' in the film as a cameo but they loved watching him during filming this scene with their own song iv seen the clip on utube of them watching and talking about it. It's amazing tbh ❤

It wasn't until 10+ years after this came out that I found out it was filmed less than 20 minutes from my house and what we call "garbage mountain" locally was used as the hollywood sign lol... blew my mind when I found out that was revolution live and the hard rock casino in these scenes.. I literally ran a booth in hard rock live where they filmed the concert scenes... its surreal lol.
Never did like musicals but this and the performance from Tom Cruise has to be one of his best I've ever seen. The vocals are just on point🎉🎉🎉. Still can't believe he was 50 for the movie. Just amazing 👏

I knew it wasn't a lip sync as soon as the first words came out of his mouth. Joe Elliott's raspy singing voice in the original is so distinctive that once you've heard it enough times and it sticks in your brain you immediately can tell when it's someone else. Or maybe that's just me. :P
