I have vrsf catless downpipes and vrsf single 3.5” mid pipe and car sounds great. No rasp at all, and has a real deep sound to it. Made my f82 sound great
The was the only thing holding the F80 back. Hopefully it pairs up well with my current exhaust. I definitely want to add a E90 or E92 M3 in the future. Such a solid car.
I’ve heard many exhaust setups for these cars and I can tell you for sure that the best exhaust setup for this car is M performance exhaust with also VRSF Downpipes which I had for my car and in my opinion it sounded amazing :)
No exhaust sounds good on the S55 unless it is equal length. M performance and any other aftermarket system just sounds awful. This, on the other hand, sounds the way an inline six should sound
I think the best setup I’ve heard so far is honestly active’s full exhaust and downpipes....everything ties itself in together, if their are any doubts go to their site and listen to their tunnel run they did down in Miami with the 2 m3’s....I’m in the davie area of Florida and will soon will be doing their downpipes only because I like their flex joint in the downpipe which really serves no real benefit over other downpipes but I aesthetically think it just looks more pleasing to me to have the flex joint there since oem downpipes have them. As just effective alternative would be to just do VRSF downpipes which are only $500 if one cares about saving $300 compared to active’s downpipe....if your more concerned about cost effective power gains, save the money from a full exhaust or even midpipes and do vrsf downpipes, pure turbos, wet meth, chargepipes, upgraded spark plugs, and flash tune which can all be purchased for under 6-7k....if it’s a matter of doing one over the other I would hands down do a pure turbo upgrade before touching anything other than downpipes in regards to the exhaust...BMW already over engineered their exhaust to perform pretty much at max potential
Dion thanks for your feedback and hopefully the viewers are able to take some of that. A lot of good info and I agree its all tied in well. What really intrigued me was how the equal length mid-pipe gave the f80 its dignity back. Thanks for checking out the video 🦾
The Daily Driven I own an 18’ f80 and have been waiting for the equal length technology to progress before buying exhaust. Excited to see how your car comes out.
No problem. Just know the new AWE Switchpath (gen 2) will not work since they went with an EPA complaint version. Active made a connection pipe that only fit Gen 1. My awe Switchpath was a non resonated when I first bought it.
Great ride my man! What did the F80 have specifically? Did it have catless downpipes along with the resonated equal length mid-pipe and 3 can rear?! I'm trying to get a feel for what stock downpipes, the non -resonated AA equal length mid-pipe paired with a comp exhaust would sound like on my F83! Any feedback is much appreciated!
You nailed it right on the hammer. Its their catless downpipe, resonated equal length midpipe and 3 can rear. Surprisingly it was just the right amount of tone. I wished I had a chance to hear how it sound while driving. Hopefully my next trip out there I'll get a chance. I know they were doing work on the f80 while it was on the dyno so we weren't able to take it for a ride.
It doesn't crackle and pop like the m2 comp or m3 comp. My is the base M3. The stock burbles are nice. I'm not a huge fan of the burble tune where the car sounds like its firing a gun lol.
I’m planning on getting an f80 as my next car (coming from a 370z nismo) and I think first thing I’d do is remove the bs burbles . They make the car sound even worse that what it is. Now this set up in the video sounds incredible so I’ll definitely be going for a similar setup
Why did u only rev ur car up to 3000rpm with new midpipe ? We would like to hear it from 3000rpm-7000rpm where the Rasp is more prominent ? Love ur videos bro !!!!!!
Thanks Samuel! The exhaust revs from my car is the AWE SWITCHPATH Non-Resonated exhaust. At the end of the video you'll be able to hear the Active Autowerke's Equal Length Mid-Pipe which sounds amazing. I already have the Mid-Pipe on order and hoping to get my hands on one by the end of next month.
Hi David, I got to Euromotive Performance. They are located in Hallendale Beach FL. They do all the work on my F80. Speak with Duwayne, he's the owner. Let him Ken sent you. He takes car of everyone i send over there with price discounts. Hope that helps!
Your car looks nice 👍🏽 👍🏽👍🏽and so do the bbs rims but they look “tunerish” apex wheels or some Bmw performance wheels wit some r888’s and bring that thing to the auto cross tracks where are cars are meant to be
Thanks for checking out the video. Which exhaust setup are you referring to? Was it the AWE Switchpath Non-Resonated thats on my car or the Active Autowerke's F80?
Hopefully it will be available the end of this month and I can get it installed by next month. I believe its a 3". Best part its a equal length midpipe.
@@TheDailyDriven Worth listening to IMO, A lot RB in it and it gets away from the 'two 3 cyl turbo's with a whole load of shit farts and pops' that populates the S55 aftermarket.
FrankMurphy too bad valvetronic has terrible customer service and haven’t even shipped a single equal length exhaust out yet. They’ve been ducking and dodging customers for months about this.

Thats awesome. Been hearing a lot about that. If this doesn't workout then I'll have to look at that.
any drone with that setup?
Gerard Bourne no drone, I have same exact setup
That’s the only reason I scared away from buying a F80 m3 but I might now.. I’m still keeping my e92 m3 tho👍🏽
The was the only thing holding the F80 back. Hopefully it pairs up well with my current exhaust. I definitely want to add a E90 or E92 M3 in the future. Such a solid car.

Awesome. Amazing sound difference with the AA equal length. Excited for the future exhaust developments for the s55 now!
I'm hoping it will pair up nicely with the AWE SWITCHPATH exhaust. I'm definitely excited to get it matched up. Stay tuned for that !

Wow that equal length midpipe is ear catching !
Those few seconds convinced me on getting that midpipe for sure 👍
I have the AWE Switchpath, interesting to see how the Active EL midpipe will sound.
I'll be sure to update with a video when that happens. 👍
what suspension setup is on this car? your ride height is perfect.
Kw ddc coilovers. A road very nice and was very compliant for daily driving
Just ordered mine ! Amazing vids on both channels bro !
Thanks brother !! can't wait to get mine! Its going to sound amazing 👏
music to my ears😏is the mid pipe you're running none resonated? and are you running anything else for the exhaust setup?
It's non resonated that's custom piped connected to the AWE SWITCHPATH Exhaust

Huge huge huge improvement on the m3!
Its definitely a game changer 💯
your car looks good bro🤩
Thank you 💯🦾
So just to clarify stock down pipes? Did you also get a tune after getting the exhaust on?
Yes that is correct. Stock downpipes. If you're only doing the exhaust you wont need a tune. When you change the downpipes you will need a tune.

id be interested to hear how it sounds, I have AWE switchpath with downpipes M4

Do they offer turbo back setup with the down pipe. Sound good with your only down pipe
Thanks for checking out the video. Which exhaust setup are you referring to? Was it the AWE Switchpath Non-Resonated thats on my car or the Active Autowerke's F80?
The Daily Driven yes. The Active Autowerkes f80.
Actually they offer a full system. Check the ending you'll see their exact setup with their turboback. It sounds amazing.
The Daily Driven now that sound a lot better. The raspiness is gone to which bmw is known for on their inline6
Yeah im excited to get my equal length midpipe. It'll be interesting to see how it pairs up with the Awe switchpath
What’s the full setup on the white M3? I want that exact sound.
Jason the F80 m3 had Active's Catless downpipe, equal length midpipe and 3 can exhaust. That combo was pretty solid.
The Daily Driven I’m new to the M3. What’s the 3 can exhaust?
No worries. That's what their axleback.is called.
the n54 sounds so good with a good exhaust, what have bmw done to the s55 to make sound so shit

Since when Downpipe voids warranty?
Once you add the downpipe, your car will require a tune. Therefore putting you at risk to have your warranty voided.
Yeah just talk to your service advisor to see if he’s cool with it
Yeah, that's one way of doing it too. Just gotta find that "cool" service advisor

Is it actually an M3? There’s no way a mid pipe can make S55 sound like a N55.
It actually does remind me of the N55. Yeah, thats a F80 M3. That midpipe did wonders on making it sound so good 👍
The Daily Driven On other channels and vids with the same mid pipe they doesn’t sound like that :}
Yeah im glad our mic's picked up the sound accurately. I heard some other clips online and its not a good reference.
