- Today we are taking a look at the new Mario Maker 2 Speedrun categories and attempting a 'No Coin Speedrun'!!! In this speedrun the rules are very simple: complete 16 endless easy levels in a row without collecting a single coin!! While it may sound simple and easy, this run proved to be anything but! Major shout-out and thank you to the Mario Maker 2 mods over on speedrun.com for adding these fun new categories to run!

My best time as of this recording: 13:14 which was #3 on the leaderboard at the time! (run starts at 8:45 in the video)

"Timer starts when you start first level"
DGR decides to start timer as soon as he hits new game instead costing him 12 additional seconds on the timer.
So really he got second place?
I watched the 2nd place speedrun in this category and that guy started his timer at the same time DGR did. That means DGR set up his timer correctly and finished in 3rd place by 9 seconds.

It was the first level, there's no point in skipping it. Starting over resets the timer.

the joke is when he dies he exit because he messed up the run but when he starts a level, he presses start to see the world record on the level while the timer is still going.
@@sackboyjr0775 there’s no joke, he checks the world record to see if it’s a quick level or not. If it’s long, he skips, because obviously.
I like how by the actual run all the enthusiasm was gone. It’s the mark of a defeated man.

i really like how by the last run he was just so done with life that he ended up being really casual and chill and not overly animated but calm and cool and himself. that was really nice to watch, just felt like hanging out with him in person or in a stream. btw did you know DGR streams over on Twitch?? I was thinking of a challenge far more difficult than an easy no-coin run :
An easy no-life run, where you have to beat 16 easy levels without collecting a life, your life counter can decrease, but it can not increase. Please hit a like so that DGR notices this idea, and with a bit of luck we might see him struggle on that :D

I personally think the best way to do coinless runs is not 'one chance and then it's over'.
Rather, i think they're best when you can try and try again until you can eventually manoeuvre all the nasty coins.
