  • This is a very old game and probably was played by Louis XIV in 1697.
    There are two main variants: European (this one) with 37 marbles and English version with 33 marbles.
    The goal of this game is to remove all marbles by jumping vertically or horizontally and eventually remain with a single marble.
    The location of the initial hole and the final marble is determined by the variant of the game.
    In the English version, the initial hole and the final marble are usually at the same place. Usually starts with a hole in the middle and ends with a marble in the middle.
    In the European version the last marble should be in the place which is 180 degrees rotation of the starting hole.
