The M model is indeed the pinnacle of performance in the crossover segment, but the surprise for me is the latest version of the S1000XR. For the real world, I can't think of a better all-around platform to tick off epic mileage. I'm so stoked about the record attempt we're preparing for with this bike. Bravo Motorrad, Bravo indeed!

I would love to see how this translates into an update of the now 1250RS, which is hopefully then a 1300RS soon? These are 2 gorgeous beauties... For the M XR: Black motorsport for me but the Sr: Gravity black or Gravity blue looks amazing If we can get gravity black with M style, even better!!
Impressive bike the XR again being slightly improved even further! Personally I'll be looking at the S1000 XR with it combining everything from comfort touring to sporty performance. the rivalry between performance camel is pretty real right now, for both BMW and Ducati has released top of the line performance adv-tourer with Isle of Mann TT proved M-1000-XR equipped with S1000RR shift-cam 4 cyl engine good for 201 HP! and Multistrada V4 RS has been released with its V4 desmo valve timing - Desmosedici stradale engine from Panigale V4 for around 195 HP cant wait to see the comparison between those two holy grail fast camel~

201 hp that's crazy even higher then MTSV4RS, changed the full system AK exhaust can reduce around 12KG so the net weight can be 211kg. Will see who is better.

Hello, thank you for your message. Both the BMW M 1000 XR and the BMW S 1000 XR have a permissible total weight of 450 kg. Due to the lower curb weight of the BMW M 1000 XR, it boasts a payload capacity of 227 kg, whereas the BMW S 1000 XR has a payload capacity of 223 kg.
On a Pikes Peak V4 myself--why NOT the XR? Infant to try it. My concern is a "screamer" motor is not the bike my riding with wife and panniers 80% of the time needs. Torque....

Hi there, there is no reverse shift for the BMW M XR! But there are a lot of other features that increase the bike’s performance and comfort - also on the racetrack. The additional adjustability of the fork's spring base in conjunction with the standard Dynamic Damping Control (DDC) suspension strut and the standard Shift Assistant Pro are just to name two. I ride a 2022 S1000XR M Sport, factory low (being a short rider it was a relief). I see no such options with MXR or even SXR M Sport (but the black and blue normal versions still have it) in the configurator. Why is that? Beautiful bikes there anyway!

Thanks for your interest! 😊 The BMW M XR has a seat height of 850 mm as standard. With the M low sports seat, the seat height is reduced by 30 mm. You can also select the M sports seat high in the configurator, where the seat height is 870 mm.

It is very unfortunate that hard saddlebags are not available for this bike. It could keep my from buying one. I use them daily to keep my jacket and helmet while I am doing other things.

After watching all the pre-production review, I could not help it but to order the MXR last week. I don't mind waiting 5 to 7 months for it. By the summer of 2024, I should be riding a fully loaded BMW M 100 XR Competition Black. I don't know what to expect, but one thing for sure, it's going to be ecstatic.

@@Arispo94I recall 200hp H2sx having factory hard side cases so yes MXR should have it without high speed wobbles too. A ton of riders are constantly asking about luggage.
The BMW M XR is a Cross over bike where performance is key. That's why we've included soft bags as an optional accessory to carry your belongings on long distance rides in order for you to get the best performance. This also means, that the luggage rack of the S 1000 XR does not fit onto the M XR. Please appreciate that we do not further comment on internal decisions.

With the new BMW S 1000 XR we reached our goal of revising and improving the bike. The new BMW M XR we created our third M model while combining motorsport genes with long-distance riding. Some of the updates on the S 1000 XR are also part of the M XR like the Headlight Pro or the Shift Assistant Pro. But there are also some feature exclusive to the M XR due to it being an M model. We can highly recommend to have a look at both bikes at your local dealer!
I bought the Gravity blue 2024 S1000 XR but can’t get blue panniers like in your video. Dealer sats they don’t even exist in the parts catalogue. But i forgive you because the bike is SO awesome😅

Hi, could you please share more information regarding seat ergonomics? I was about to buy a regular version, meaning S1000XR but the seat was too tiny (I am above 100 kg and my size is 1.90m) and I did not feel comfortable. I have heard (and I believe the difference is noticeable) that the seat in M1000XR is different, but I am not sure if I should consider the bike. Thanks!

The M seat of the M 1000 XR is optimized compared to the S 1000 XR with an increase in usable bench length and width for more freedom of movement. Does the new XR come with auto sag adjustment like on the GS?
Im so happy that the seat has been redesigned. It ruins the older version and it was main reason I bought different bike! Well done BMW! Finaly.
Would be nice if BMW admitted there was an inherent design flaw with the seat and offer a recall /redesign for current owners.

@@Big1_ Well, it took colossal amounts of energy maintaining the rift in the time-space continuum necessary to stay in 2016 where the bike was new. So I had to let it close and return to 2023, where the bike was now seven years old.

@@bmwmotorrad Thanks for the reply. Will it be possible to replace the parts in the M to have the standard rack from the S? Really does seem like a miss to not have the same luggage capacity as the S.
@@Arispo94I recall 200hp H2sx having factory hard side cases so yes MXR should have it without high speed wobbles too. A ton of riders are constantly asking about luggage.
The BMW M XR is a Cross over bike where performance is key. That's why we've included soft bags as an optional accessory to carry your belongings on long distance rides in order for you to get the best performance. This also means, that the luggage rack of the S 1000 XR does not fit onto the M XR. Please appreciate that we do not further comment on internal decisions.

You have the option of attaching softbags to your bike. Both luggage holders have a volume of 8 liters and a maximum load of 5 kg.

question: does mxr include all the latest updates of the new s1000xr? if not, what differs?
With the new BMW S 1000 XR we reached our goal of revising and improving the bike. The new BMW M XR we created our third M model while combining motorsport genes with long-distance riding. Some of the updates on the S 1000 XR are also part of the M XR like the Headlight Pro or the Shift Assistant Pro. But there are also some feature exclusive to the M XR due to it being an M model. We can highly recommend to have a look at both bikes at your local dealer!

I bought the Gravity blue 2024 S1000 XR but can’t get blue panniers like in your video. Dealer sats they don’t even exist in the parts catalogue. But i forgive you because the bike is SO awesome😅

Hi, could you please share more information regarding seat ergonomics? I was about to buy a regular version, meaning S1000XR but the seat was too tiny (I am above 100 kg and my size is 1.90m) and I did not feel comfortable. I have heard (and I believe the difference is noticeable) that the seat in M1000XR is different, but I am not sure if I should consider the bike. Thanks!
Hey there! Actually, the BMW S 1000 XR has been receiving a completely new seat - we recommend you go check it out at your local dealer once the bike is available by spring this year. The M seat of the M 1000 XR is optimized compared to the S 1000 XR with an increase in usable bench length and width for more freedom of movement. Hi, I have visited a local dealer today and I talked to my colleague, who is a customer representative. We both agreed on one thing - Patience, patience and once again patience until it the bike officially appears at the dealership. Anyway I have pre-calculated leasing conditions.
