Want to invert your face in a Zoom meeting? I mean, so your left hand to you looks like your left hand when you look in the mirror. Flipping an image of yourself in Zoom is easy, but it only flips it for you (and for your recording of yourself).
WHY would you want to rotate your camera horizontally like this?
It's because when you raise your left hand, to you it looks like it's on the right, which can be confusing.
So, this video shows you how to mirror your image: the mirror effect in Zoom.
Remember, this is only for YOU seeing your face, the way that you usually see it in the mirror. This mirror of your face has no impact on what your guests see. It just makes you look like you do when you look at yourself in the mirror.

The issue is that mirroring your video only works for your own viewing.
For the rest of the people in a Zoom call, they will see you normal, as in its mirror correctly with the intended direction of reading words in the correct orientation.

Yes it is only mirrored for yourself, ppl will see you inverted . For making them see u mirrored , unmirror urself from ur device and it will automatically get mirrored for others.

Yes, it’s only how you see yourself, so that you appear how you look in the mirror, rather than how you look to everyone else.

i want my student to "air spell" new words from left to right, and i'd like HIS view of ME to LOOK like I'm going left to right when i model the spelling. So I want him to see me spelling left to right. What combination of his and/or my "mirror video" settings will make that work?
OK. The mirror video on Zoom that I mention in this video only applies to your own view of yourself, so that you look to yourself the way you look to yourself when you look in a mirror.
So, whether or not you mirror your own video, your student will see you as he would see you if you’re standing in the same room, opposite him.
So, if in real life, facing him, you would spell out the words backwards - from your right to your left - he would see you from his left to his right. Same happens on Zoom.

If the virtual background was a picture, you could always create it in Canva or some design program, mirror it there, and then use it as your virtual background.
But if you had writing on your shirt, for example, and on your background, would you want one to be the right way around and the other back to front?

On the Zoom mobile app, see if you can go to:
Settings -> Meetings
and then scroll down to Video and click on Mirror My Video.
For backgrounds with writing on them, should you use “mirror my image” or not, to ensure the words are not reversed? I’d appreciate someone clarifying this for me. Thanks

No, you don’t have to reverse the writing for your background to appear normal way to others.

The mirroring is only how you see yourself (like how you see yourself in a mirror). Others will still see you as they do in real life.

I don't see "preferences" when I go into Zoom.us. I do see "settings," but there is no preferences there either.
