Really helpful to get me motivated and less intimidated by my data! Now I feel I can do something with it. Thank you, Dr!
Your tips are always great Dr. Thanks a lot ☺️
Thank you so much for the amazing video!! I am currently writing a seminar paper for my mixed methods class and I was struggling with the coding part...Thanks a lot!!!
Doctor K thank you so much. Now coding my data makes sense.
Great! Precious tips.Thanks, Professor!
Thank you Dr Kriukow! Really helpful 👌
Very helpful!! many thanks Dr Kriukow
This is super useful, thank you. Clear, straightforward and no complex software required.
Glad it helped!
Thank you professor! It means a lot to me.
Great work! thank you so much this was really helpful.
This is really helpful. Thank you very much for sharing this kind of valuable contents
This is great. Thank you very much for sharing.
Really really helpful! and for anyone!
Thanks so much for sharing. Looking forward to your next video.
you're welcome, I hope you hvae learned something new from the video
This video is simple and easy to understand. It has made my understanding easier to develop and analyze data. Thank you!!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Thank you so much - this is so helpful
Thank you for sharing this with us
Really useful, thank you so much. I'm heading over to your other videos now. Thank you!
Glad you like them!
Wonderful video. You do not know how much you have helped me do my dissertation data analysis. I am very grateful. I was trying to figure out how not to purchase a QDA software since my university does not provide one. Thank you again. I am now a fan!!
Great, happy to hear that! You may also want to watch Part 2 (see the video description for the link)
Thank you 🙏🏻 very helpful ♥️
Thankyou very clear!!!
Thanks a lot, really helpful! I would like to recommend you to have a better microphone, or putting the volume a bit higher for your next videos, I had difficulties to understand what you are saying. Thanks again!
Thank you for deliveirng this video. It was extremely helpful and very beneficial when an assignment limits your ability to code manually.
You're very welcome!
Thanks Doc! Research tools are mad expensive. This is a great alternative. Cheers.
You are welcome! and you're right about the prices, especially NVivo which is ridiculously expensive
This is helpful to visualize how themes and coding might look like for a beginner level researcher. Thankyou for sharing. The audio needs to be louder (perhaps not being captured very well when screencasting).
Thank you for the feedback. There is a better version of this video, if you look at the video description there is a link
Thanks a lot
Thank you sooo much! Agreed with the colour coding limitation. I am also thinking of bringing out the texts under each code put onto a separate sheet for analysis - maybe do another set of coding? A thought.
That's a great idea!
You are so kind
Thank you!
thank you so much for creating this video. I am an absolute novice in qualitative research and your videos have helped me learn a lot about coding. Could you please make a video on how to systematically conduct a grounded theory coding and analysis? this will help me and other novice GT researchers to great extent. Thank you once again for all the great insights you share with your videos.
Thank you I will consider this idea. I do have some videos about GT, as well as a video about line by line coding in GT meanwhile
@@qualitativeresearcher I did line by line coding for a pilot interview with the help of your video 🙂
helpful
A few rough timestamps:
2.50 how to start processing data into codes (second column of the table)
11.15 how to go from codes to themes (add a comment)
19.00 how to colour-code themes in data (a separate file for themes book with colours)
20.52 limitations of using colours for coding in Word
Very useful video. Can you also put one video about how to report the qualitative results or how to write the result chapter.
Thank you for the suggestion, I will think about that! :)
great video, please help, how do i do the coding using qualitative systematic articles since the themes are done already in the papers that i have?
I second that! I have the same question :D
Hey thank you for this, very useful. Alot of resources I find for thematic content analysis are focused around qualitative interviews - however I'm looking at doing this for academic writings on a topic - is thematic content analysis valid if this is my source? thanks!
yes you can also analyze this type of data thematically
Is it only the same questions for different person? Or this is only for a single person interview?
Interesting In vivo practice with MS Word. I missed the voice of the speaker though.
Thank you for the feedback. Yes, I'm aware of the sound issues, but you can find a new, improved and more extensive version of the video here ruclips.net/video/XOYhkUC21wQ/видео.html&ab_channel=ResearchwithDrKriukow
Thank you for the video, but the sound is low!
Thank you for the feedback, I recently recorded a new, improved version of this videos. Please have a look at my responses to other comments, or find it in the channel videos
OK I love this lecture but again I have to ask... Do you have to go through the same process if you have say 9 different interviews?
depends on whether there is a point where you feel like you can already move on. This point may occur after only a few first transcripts, if the transcripts are quite detailed. You don't have to go through all this for all transcripts
How can we import code book from this ?
Next week I am going to record a new, improved version of this video. Not only will it have a better quality of audio, as I do realize this is a big problem of this video, I will also add new, and better, ideas for how to organize the framework and how to create a code book :) You may want to subscribe and turn the notifications on not to miss it !
Can NVivo pick up the codes from Microsoft word comment section?
it cannot, you would need to replicate this manually, working with a word file
I cant hear your audio.
Honestly I can't hear anything when you are explaining. Even with the headphones blasting on full power. Especially when someone is talking on the background.
Apologies for this. This was not something I could improve at the editing stage. Next week I am going to record a new, improved version of this video. Not only will it have a better quality of audio, as I do realize this is a big problem of this video, I will also add new, and better, ideas for how to do the analysis and how to organize the thematic framework later
@@qualitativeresearcher Thanks a lot. I still used ur video at the end of the day.
Good to see but can't hear...

Good tutorial vid except for the sound quality.
sorry about that. I do have a newer version though, with sound fixed
@@qualitativeresearcher Thank you for taking time to fix it. May you be blessed even more!
volume really low.
this video was not audible
