These street musicians command a great respect. Having nowhere to go but to the streets. They rock. I ALWAYS stop to listen & donate . Always. They are deserving people.
0:53-1:02 That guy straight up skipped past the guy jumping up and down, clapping his hands like a lunatic and after that, he literally went back to walking like nothing happened... This guy is a legend.
The entire thing is amazing, but the best part is 0:58 when that awesome jumpy-clapping guy added another layer to the song! I just wanna get up and dance to it. haha :D
Looks like he is wrestling with the instrument! That is the nature of this beast. It is a most unnatural, un-ergonomic, awkward instrument to play, so those who vercome that challenge and learn to play it are not only gifted, they are very determined people! I salute all accordion players of all abilities! You are great people!
I've played Accordion for several years when I was about 8 to 14 and it is a heavier instrument to carry around. The piano keys are easy to play. However, the problem comes when you have to learn more complicated base runs. Small Accordions (60 buttons) are not bad, but full size (120 buttons) are harder to operate. This instrument is best played alone as it don't fit to to many today's bands or to the type of modern music. I still play if I get someones instrument, but my fingers are "woody with my old age". I now prefer just my piano.
If the accordion is correctly positioned then it is not awkward at all. I have played the accordion for 30 years now and the thing i love about the instrument is the fact you wear it. When a gig is going well you literally feel as if you are part of the instrument.
To those who are wondering, this is Ivan Hajek. He has become a part of the soul of modern Munich, having been playing accordion on the highest level on its streets for decades
Stephen A Sorry, you were told wrong then. This is not very hard for an intermediate accordionist. This could easily be played even on a 72 bass stradella. It's much easier than it looks, and honestly he's not even using proper technique.
Joseph Holliday I think it is about learning the instrument and I think it is possible but to master this instrument and to always have at least 3 pieces in mind it takes time...as does everything.
i live in australia and here a good used accordion is from $50 which is about 65 usd ive just bought two a small one and a larger one i paid 150 for a beautiful 75 year old serenilli and 100 for the other ...privately of course as the shops ask 4 times that price.... they are pleasant to play as for hard ort easy well i would say that is up to the individual ... im no musician... but ive 3 drum kits 3 guitars two accordions and i love writing songs and poems along with rap and an array of other meaningful collections of words buy a cheap one in nice condition made in italy or germany or you may like the electric version ie hammond or yamaha perhaps 300usd for a nice used one i am going to use stick on velcre to mark my keys athrough to g let me know how u go :)
The accordion is as difficult as any instrument if you want to play real accordion music well, French musette, Sth American tangos etc. However it is possible to getaway playing old folk tunes and the like. But the listeners will generally know when they hear a really accordionist
The wife's says: Playing an instrument and performing are two different things. with a bright costume and shoes, hat and knowing how to use your body English gets you a lot more attention then sitting in a chair with grubby clothes. you need to draw those people to you and give them a performance, not your ass stuck on a chair, that's not performing. have a pretty girl with you with a Tamborine and maybe playing something else make it a show and make a lot more money.

This guy is a legend.
I'm a subway accordionist myself, and you'd be surprised how normal those kinds of things are! Never a dull moment.
Amen, homie and GOD BLESS US ALL!!!
Legend? He's an embarrassment, he has to be into drugs. Nobody at that sane age would have acted like he did.
He was keeping the time as well! Loved his participation, rest of the people were just mummies!
He did it as q joke for fun, stupid as shi
That jumpy cricket amused me with his perfectly timed claps and fading out calmly. Love him for not disturbing the maestro. Good boy. Appreciate him.
The entire thing is amazing, but the best part is 0:58 when that awesome jumpy-clapping guy added another layer to the song! I just wanna get up and dance to it. haha :D
I just saw Ivan playing on a street corner at the Market Square in Krakow! He is wonderful.
Ivan - that was outstanding! Loved it!

Hallo Jannes Gr van Sophie 🐖
uh... no one? that's not canon in D.
Jacob Repino it's a sort of funked up version. But the fact there's only one voice makes it something of a non-canon.

It’s a piano accordion, not an accordion.
