I'm glad you're liking it. I can only really make the music that feels honest to me at the time i'm making it. I'm never going to be someone to just make something with the purpose of keeping everyone happy, as that would lack creative authenticity for me. Honestly I always leave the vocals quite vague when chopping stuff up, so it's often more implied than explicitly stated. I think it says something like 'do you give me to love me', which makes very little sense....
It normally comes down to what other tracks are on an album and what works well together. Most albums I try to put together as a cohesive body of work, even if that means leaving off some of my favourites. Other times you might just get tired of a track or not have enough time to finish it due to deadlines. With release like Fallen Light, The Cold in You and Tides, there was also a label involved, so if they don't like tracks it's quite hard to get them on the release too!
