Only after watching the introduction part of the video, reminds me a guy on youtube figure out how to make fedora work with custom btrfs layout (suopport timeshift and snapper) and secure boot. One thing it's a bit complex is re-configure GRUB to work properly. More or less install fedora the arch way.
I was hoping you could make a video tutorial on how to edit or delete leftover Grub entries when upgrading from Fedora 37 to 38. Currently, I have 3 entries for the same Fedora Linux on Grub, and I would like to simplify it to just one entry for Fedora and one for Windows 11. I have been trying to figure out how to do this, but I have not been successful. Your expertise in Linux and Grub would be greatly appreciated in helping me and others who may be having the same issue. Thank you for considering my request, and I look forward to watching your video.
sorry for the multi replies if they show up. Have a poor net connection current and getting timed out and my reply was not showing. Still new to commenting on youtube found out why after a google search. lol
The /boot/efi can't be inside boot partition, even as a sub volume. Because you have to mount the same /boot/efi partition for every Fedora install with exactly the same names for configuration files, but all the configs are different. For example one Fedora 39 install has Nvidia installed and Nouveau blacklisted, another Fedora 39 has AMD Radeon installed and Nouveau blacklisted. Maybe there is 3'rd Fedora 39 install where you have renamed some virus files into something different like nvidia-modprobe -> miau-nvidia-modprobe, libGLX_nvidia.so.0 -> miau-libGLX_nvidia.so.0, nvidia_icd.json -> miau-nvidia_icd.json
Hey Titus! Nice video as always. You really love suffering in front of us, don't you? :D As a side note, don't all EFI based systems have their grub.cfg in /boot/EFI/efi/${oscode}/grub.cfg? At least all I've seen behave this way.
Can anyone tell how to make GRUB boot to Ubuntu stored in internal drive when Fedora is already mounted on an external drive and BIOS prioritizes Fedora over Ubuntu? And vice versa too. Sometimes even after mounting external drive, need arises to boot to Ubuntu at the last moment and even though Ubuntu is shown, when selected, it shows some error messages saying bootloader is not loaded. StackExchange and Fedora, Ubuntu community didn't help either
sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg works to update grub though! Fedora documentation recommends this way instead of the grub.cfg in the efi partition.

Thanks for using my grub theme. I feel somewhat strange seeing people using something I myself created.
Thanks for making it! It is by far my favorite out of all the ones I've tried. (Somewhere over 100+ themes)
I had been stuck on this for the past few weeks, until now! Thank you very much for this video!
Fedora has Chris safeguards built in. 😀
I had the exact same problem a few months back :))) Wanted to ask you for help, but luckily found the solution myself.
Thank you so much it worked!🙌

I got the theme!! thanks for the helpp
I made an entire plasma theme inspired by this grub theme
You got a link?
Arch is looking pretty sweet now, isn't it? 😆
That is one sweet looking environment. Do you have a walk through how to set it up?
Right now! I will try
I Recently installed Fedora 39 and I have the same problem with grub but now I'm gonna try it .... I had spent a lot of time searching a solution 😅
Nice thanks 👍
Will we have a tutorial on your website?? Please....
Fedora only needs two partitions. One for efi which is in /boot/efi
And another for root
Wrong. Fedora needs /, /boot and /boot/efi
@hiteshkamble3811 are you on a bios system or uefi system?

At least we can still theme GRUB unlike GDM

symlinks and custom partitioning are my friends on fedora
So what fixed it?
😂😂😂😂💪🏽♌💗 this is how it is for me & tinycore trying to get grub to work...love it so fun...😢😅😅

Bro use warp terminal it would save you hours
35 minutes of nothing
Your videos would be better without the distracting creatures.
sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg works to update grub though! Fedora documentation recommends this way instead of the grub.cfg in the efi partition.
You edit /etc/default/grub, then run sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
