I've noticed linux youtubers don't match the actual usage statistics for linux distros. Normal people want an OS that just works. Ubuntu Xubuntu Kubuntu Mint Mint
And SteamOS is huge now, once it's on more devices, it'll be in the top few, it already has millions of users.

CachyOS if you want Arch. Tumbleweed if you want the best "just works", but with slow updater. NixOS if you want to ditch dependency hell. Mint if you're old and need to switch off windows XP. Everything else is a joke, and you're wasting your time. Have fun with that, which I question if people are picking garbage distros on purpose, because there's enough reviews out there to know better.

Lol, this is so relatable! No distro seems to be perfect. Eventually you just have to pick one and use it for at least a couple of months. I usually end up using Arch again btw. ;-)

I know. I use Arch on my other computer, but my laptop I'm using Fedora.

You're all picking bad distros. Switch to CachyOS if you prefer Arch. Tumbleweed if you want "just works". NixOS if you hate dependency hell. Mint if you're running old hardware. Everything else is trouble. That includes fedora. Fedora is a worse version of tumbleweed that pretends it's better. They're not. It's named after a fedora, there's no way it's not pretentious garbage.

I have used three: Slackware, Debian and more recently Arch.

Unless it's a binary file, I'll avoid anything on AUR. I'd rather install the Flatpak to help prevent breakages.

Yeah. I’ll run Linux for server environments…. But desktop? NFW.

Hi, unfortunately Android apps on BlendOS can only be used on Wayland. That's why the name WayDroid
Way = Wayland Droid = Android
    Good video!

That would explain it. Thanks for explaining it. I'm a dinosaur so I won't be using Wayland anytime soon.

I hate OpenSuse almost as much as I hate the Gnome Desktop. YAST is verifiably the worst thing in Linux. And, zippyer, well, it just doesn't really cut it for me. Now, if a bunch of devs wrote it Rust, I'd probably want to know more, maybe. Also, everytime I install OpenSuse, something breaks and I have to do a hard reset, but then GRUB takes a crap on me. But, maybe I should trying it on virt-manager for shits and giggles.

@@linux-dev-labs As someone who has switched over a lot of my development to Rust and Go. Having something written in a new and trendy language doesn't magically make things better. You can arguably write more optimized code with C++/C, rust is great for memory safety but just because something is written in rust doesn't automatically mean it is better. At the end of the day both CLANG and Rust use a LLVM backend, rust just has more training wheels installed to prevent common developer mistakes.
YAST is a godsend for doing remote server work, and is reminiscent of the old windows control panel. It's a great piece of software, but it shows it's age very much so.

I don't care about the politics of GNOME; they will be insolvent very soon, and by then, Fedora will take over and maintain the project.

I don't think they will be insolvent. In fact, they have about $400,000 in their reserve account that they haven't touched, but thanks for a good video topic to talk about.

Guys. MAC OS. Stop wasting timing to get the bare minimum working.

There are a lot of reasons why I don't use MacOS. One, I can't use virt-manager and QEMU which is a must for me. Two, they solder all their components so that I can't upgrade (Not even RAM). Three, There aren't good tiling window managers and their Desktop Environment is pure garbage. It's worse than Gnome imho. Four, Proxmox, Docker, Kubernetes don't run well from what people tell me. Five, some years ago, I tried to simply reformat a usb drive on MacOS, and I couldn't find the proper software to do it. I even tried in the command-line which they wouldn't let me do for some reason. Six it's based on stolen technology. Steve Jobs literally stole a lot of things and then made it all "closed-source". Seven, yes I know Neovim and lsp-servers work in MacOS, but it works better on Linux.
