My intro to the flash comics was the button cross over. Then the Geoff johns omnibus vol 1(new printing.) Reading these then going to Williamson’s(that was the second one I’ve read) run, is slightly disappointing. But it’s still enjoyable. Wally is the goat!!

The new editions of these omnis are so much better and have more chapters in them. No issues are missing and look amazing, my only problem with them is the vol 2 has a weird spine

@@comicsaredope there are orphaned issues in those editions, near mint condition goes more in-depth in his flash omni review(new editions). Also the new versions have better mapping.

Mark Waid’s and Geoff John’s runs of the Flash were the best runs of the character in my opinion. It has things such as the origin of the speedforce, the Flash Family expanded, and Wally growing to eventually surpass his mentor in all areas. Everything you love about the character (character traits, cast, great all time stories, fastest speedster in general all originate from Wally) And becoming the greatest Flash of all time. Throughout Rebirth most DC fans felt Wally was mistreated until as of the last year. Since he is returning as The main Flash again this month in Infinite Frontier.

I'm hoping to pick up the reprints/remaps of these sometime this year, really like Flash (Granted I've only read Silver Age, which is fantastic, and bits in team books), but not a huge fan of Johns Writing (I don't read a ton of modern books so the style is sometimes a bit weird to get used to, at least for me; I mainly read SA/BA since I started reading mainstream superhero comics in last few years. The mythic style of storytelling just pulled me in and the gorgeous artstyles and colouring of the era). Flash's Rogues are wonderful! On par with Batman's, if not better. This run looks good though, thanks for the overview!
When you finish your X-Men readathon totally read Wolfman's New Teen Titans (6 Omnis! And possibly 4 more to cover The New Titans) It's just fantastic. I think it's my favourite of any mainstream superhero run I've read thus far.

Nice omnis. Great tip to check out Facebook groups for buying these. You mention these have been reprinted in 2 volumes instead of 3. What drew you to this printing instead? Oh wait, you just answered it!

Yep. It was the price. I got a great deal. But looking at them on my shelves bugs me with that skinny volume 1. Lol

Are omnis new? I remember seeing in one shop in the late 80s thick hardcover volumes of stories going for around $60.

According to Wikipedia, the very first Marvel Omnibus came out in 2005. I’m sure they did thick volumes before, but just weren’t using the term.
