You have a treasure trove of vintage patterns. I can tell you have a great taste because every one of the styles would look great if you made them today.
Wow, I sure remember some of those patterns. That jumpsuit I made it so many times.. I always love jumpsuits, brought back so many memories. I used to buy my fabric at Patternson Silk on 14th St in Manhattan. Thanks for some awesome memories.
Yes.. I think I'll have to do a remake of that dress. I loved my Home Ec classes and had the best teacher ever. Ms Mary. She was a true gem 💎 tfw and have a blessed day ✨️
Thanks so much! 😊 I'm looking at one or two of them to recreate. Possible the shirt dress and hopefully the draw string floral dress. Tyfw and Happy blessings to you 🧵 🪡
I think I made those gouchos. I was a teenager. Thank you for sharing. Brought back lots of memories. I loved sewing as a teenager. Make so much stuff including prom dresses.
You are so welcome! I'm so glad to have some of these patterns to recreate one day. Great memories and lots of good times. Tyfw and Happy sewing . 👗👚👔🌹🧵🪡
Isn't it amazing how patterns were printed long ago. I took a look at the pattern paper, and you could read the information and guidelines much better. I plan to make something from my stash soon. Tfs, and have a blessed and amazing day.🪡🤗🧵
Those vintage patterns are amazing!!! Wow!! What a treasure. Wow! The wrap-around skirt. I wish they would bring that pattern back. Too cool. Those patterns had so much more detail descriptions on the envelope. Those cargo pants are on point today! Definitely FUN FUN FUN! BEAUTIFUL prom dress. ♥ WOW! You got the ORIGINAL jumpsuit pattern that they just reissued recently. All those patterns are relevant today. I love how they show the pattern pieces on the back of the envelope and it was all in English. Now the envelope print is so tiny and no pattern pieces shown because they added French and Spanish descriptions. I still wear wedge sandals TODAY! 🤣🤣🤣 No shame. Love those Jiffy patterns. Thanks for sharing this. I truly enjoyed it. 💖💖💖💖💖
I think that classic and vintage styles are always going to be the main foundation for all clothing then and now.🪡🧵👚👗👔 tyfw and Happy sewing and blessings to you always 🌹
Thanks for sharing your awesome memory. An ultrasuede shirt...hummm? Now that's what I call vintage..lol🧵🪡✂️🤗tfw and have a blessed and wonderful day ✨️
Thank you so much. It was so fun, and I'm so happy that I had them in my sewing storage for so long to be able to someday recreate. We really had great fashionable styles back then. Tyfw, and have a blessed and wonderful day. Happy sewing 🧵🪡🤗
Thanks for sharing your patterns! I sewed most of my clothes in High School class of 73 and married in 75 and sewed most of my clothing and made children and some of my husbands clothes too! Really enjoyed it ❤
Thanks for sharing your beautiful memories. Back then, I truly loved home economics in school, I know it developed my creativity to this day💖 tyfs and I hope that you have a great and blessed day 😊
Love watching this! I also sewed most of my clothes in the 70’s. I couldn’t buy new clothes often but Mom (who did not sew) would always let me buy fabric to make my own. Simp 7588 was a dress I wore to graduation, made in a lightweight knit with a soft print. I also made navy linen gauchos and wore them often when I was student teaching. Thanks for sharing these!
Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful memory. I remember making my patterns from the newspaper when I could for clothes that I saw in the store. I truly thought that I wanted to be a fashion designer back then. Tfw and have a blessed and wonderful day💐🪡🧵😊👗👚
This was really fun to watch! I wish more people would make videos like this, showing a vintage pattern's cover art, line drawings, and then reading details on the back of the pattern envelope. It's also really neat that you talked about which fabrics you used to make each item of clothing and which of these were your favorites. Thank you for this fun video!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it! The 70s was such a great time for me when I began learning how to sew. I still love it to this day and plan on making something from this fabulous collection. Thank you for stopping by, and I wish you all the best🤗✨️
That's so cool. I'm glad you have a pattern that you can make great clothing pieces with. Like someone stated before....Everything old is new again. Happy sewing and blessings to you always 🌹
Simplicity pattern 8588: I remember sewing this one in the late 1970s when I was in graduate school in Oregon. I hand sewed it from a beautiful lightweight cotton print. It was my favorite summer dress for years. Both pretty and comfortable. I think I still have the pattern.
Thank you for sharing your memories. Growing up in the 70s was the best time. 🤗Wow.. that's so awesome to hand sew the entire dress. This also was my favorite dress. Lately, I've been thinking about recreating this one as well for spring❤. Hope that you have an amazing and beautiful day and happy sewing. 🧵🌹🪡
I loves clothes from the 40s&60&70&80 I loves your patterns im new to your channel can you do dresses from Jessica McClintock old Chanel Oleg Cassini and Bob Mackies dresses and I loves old Vogue vintage patterns too thanks for showing
Thank you so much. I'll try to search through some other patterns that I have. Hopefully I'll be able to find them in my attic🤔. I know I had some Vogue dress patterns. I think I have a Jessica McClintock cocktail dress pattern too. I didn't have any Oleg Cassini or Bob Mackie, but truly loved the elegance of the styles. Tyfw and blessings to you always 🌹
I started sewing in the 70s and just poured over those pattern books I'm sure for hours! So many of your patterns I can remember seeing though I didn't have any( I don't think😂) tyfs your collection 🩷🇨🇦

Just found your channel. Love it! Now I have to go back and watch your other videos. Nice patterns! I had some of the same ones. Wish I still had them. We were styling in the 70’s!
Thank you so much. 🤗 Absolutely ❤️ the 70s☮️👗👚🧵🪡 . I hope to recreate a few of them for future sewing projects. Tyfw, and have an amazing and blessed day.
I believe I just ordered that very pantsuit pattern. It hasn’t come in yet from simplicity. Look at hoodies, sweaty, sweatshirts…! You got a great collection to work from😊
@judithcatlett8518 Thanks for sharing your story. I love it..❤️. we really dressed up back then. I may make a pair of jean gauchos from that pattern. Tfw, and I hope you have an amazing day 🌹
My first project for school was a blouse, with arm and neck facing, and a 7 inch zipper in the back, I made a triangle head scarf to match with ric rac trim. My mom found this horrible hospital green cotton.... I am sure she got it real cheap, god forbid I wasted the fabric and money! Your Simplicity 8588 was a dress I also made at least twice, so cute!! I know one was in a floral beige voile.
What wonderful memories of your sewing days. Thanks for sharing. I loved my Home Ec classes so much and learned quite a bit. I had the best teacher ever ❤️. I think that I'm going to revisit that dress pattern and remake it with some beautiful fabric in my stash. Tyfw and many sweet blessings to you always ✂️ 🪡 🧵
I was just about to say, some of these clothing patterns, look like clothing from the 70s , to me clothing seems to have decreased in quality and style since the 80s, and increased in poor quality and cost, with alot of cheap knockoffs flooding the market. These days I'm enjoying making clothing from brand new vintage patterns, love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've always loved the classic look of these foundational piece patterns. You can bet that they will never go out of style. You are so right, today's styles are just remakes of the original. I'm so glad that I was able to save them. Can't wait to select one for my next project. Tyfw and good blessings to you always 🌹 🧵🪡🤗
@@MsSeashellsCraftyCabana Totally agree! After being so absorbed sewing one night I realized it was near dawn and I was picking out some stitches, when I found myself feeling so complete and satisfied at my sewing I found myself saying, "I wonder if God felt like this when He created the Universe".
