That was really helpful i was always pushing the brake right away but now winter is here and I only wanna start the battery but not the engine so it won't freeze thanks
In the winter you must start the engine in order for the battery to not die. When you start the engine and keep it running, the alternator will power the battery, and recharge it. If you don’t start the engine, it will drain the battery more, which will cause you to have to jumpstart the car or get a new battery.

Thank you for the video this help as the dealer did not show us this. However, how does one get the interior lights to turn when you open the door, like at night. And then shut off like after you unload the back area of groceries at night, etc. like how a car would be in the old fashion of the age of the key, key not needed to do the above, as you know. This was very helpful to me preciate it I am helping out a longtime neighbor that is moving and he's always been quite nice to me so I always wanted to help him out and anything I could and this is the final thing I can help him out with I'll end up driving his vehicle for quite a ways behind him driving the U-Haul and his vehicle is a push start

Is there a way to crank the engine more than it's programmed to? I live in Canada and sometimes it just needs that extra juice to fire up a cold engine.

@@deltainfinite8697 that’s what I do, I wait until the message on dashboard says check completed then I press the paddle and turn it on , the car manual acutely says to do it right away without waiting, but I feel satisfied waiting and do it this way lol 🤪
@@costantineyoussif6679 yes its true, My friend who works at toyota car dealer who is an agent told me last week about it and it is the safest way. Because mostly car dealers do not inform it to their customers so that when the car has a problem in an ignition or engine it is more expensive and that's where they get more money. Clever Car Dealers 😂

I don’t think this information is correct. You should pause for a couple of seconds in the on mode, as your ECM (Central Computer) is doing a systems check as most of the lights come on, are checked, and blink out one-by-one. (This is like your PC booting up.) I usually use this two seconds to fasten my seat belt.

when my old car battery was low I was able to still twist the keys and start the engine but not with my new car.

Duh I didn't push in the break pedal first. That's why the car wouldn't start and I had to learn how to do it on RUclips.
Why though? You have to push the break pedal in cars with regular keys as well.

It is better to turn it on step by step, i.e. accessory mode - ignition - engine.
