Global ascension is always so bad because for some reason they make every other person bad just for the mc to beat. Literally at that point just make the mc transported into a dangerous world or some. Also the whole common, uncommon, rare etc. ranking system feels so overused that it's just bad now
There's even something worse, Whole Country Transmigration. Only dragon kingdom gets all the fun stuff. LMAO If you want absolute kino genre, read Behind The Scenes genre. It's absolutely crazy. In Chinese it's called "幕后", almost 90% of them are top tier. at least for me.

I used to use Yousuu back then to search for them, but Yousuu admin had to shut down the website because they ran out of money. Most of them are really obscure now and hidden now because they're scattered everywhere with no wiki for them. There's about 200 books of this genre at minimum. All in Chinese. 69shuba have a list of them, but it's barely a quarter of the genre. Some legacy MTL sites have them, like "I became the pope" "I! Evil Dragon!" And "I possessed the sun god" I recommend the last one, it's basically what a regular behind the scenes novel is. There's also "I become the villain of the week" where the mc becomes Cthulhu. "herding humanity" mc creates and controls a miniature world "Game of the world tree" female mc is the goddess of the elves. There's many fanfics too like "月世界必不可神代复苏". And that bleach x lotm book.

this reminded me of one of the first novels I read. "Everyone Else is a Returnee", the premise is self-explanatory I think😅. I remember liking it but looking at the tags, current me would have totally passed on it. I might re-read it just to see why I liked it so much that I picked up novels. you should totally do a review of your first novel and how it stacks up now that you have more genre knowledge.
