Honestly, country and R&B are so connected. They’re all about heart, soul, and a story. It’s no wonder country singers have taken R&B songs and turned them into country and R&B singers have done the same to country music (…of course I Will Always Love You comes to mind…). I love Kenny Rogers and this is one of my favorite songs sung by Kenny, Lionel, and both together.
Back in the later 70s and early 80s - there were a lot of songs that were on the rock and roll charts and the country charts at the same time. You would enjoy doing more of those - Charlie daniels band devil went down to Georgia, Crystal Gayle don't it make my brown eyes blue, linda ronstant, so many more artists.
Now look up Kenny and dolly Islands in the stream. Written by Barry gibb (of the bee gees)
Kent also did a duet with Sheena easton called we've got tonight - they did it live i think from the same concert. Not sure but the live version is incredible
All the bee gees wrote it. Just looked it up
I wish all artists would give recognition to the original artist and/or writers/composers of the song they are singing or rapping it, even if it is just sampling it !

Another beautiful song by
Kenny Rogers Is
🎶Sweet music man 🎵
You gonna adore this song too Keep the good work my friend 👌👍🏼
Kenny had a cold during this performance, which, IMHO makes this so much better than the studio performance. That much grittiness isn't the normal Kenny.
