I honestly don't get the people who think this version is better than the Rob Halford version.. is it just fangirls drooling over this guy or? I am talking strictly techniques and sound here, his voice is so dull, especially compared to her's, it is flat. I like his style, his music is cool but i honestly think his voice isn't very interesting, and then compared to someone like Rob Halford... Yeah, i Don't get it. But hey, it's a free world, this internet-world, so I won't force anyone to think anything.. and i am of course expecting to be called a lot of bad things and told "how wrong i am" etc...
its subjective. I think some people like this version more because his voice is more distinguishable and rob's vocals blend more into Maria's. to be super fair, studio version vs live isnt a fair comparison. personally, I love both versions.
I find Robs voice a bit bland tbh so I guess it's point of view, obviously this isn't studio quality it might have sounded better with all the bells and whistles they give them in a private recording

But yes if you are used to listen to people who use a lot of effects on their voices - including electronic effects which both Maria and Chris(?) Does - this isn't meant as a negative thing, it is just stating a fact, then i guess Rob's voice sounds pretty dull. I have listened to the Rob live version also.. so it's not about live vs. Studio version. But yes, studio versions are much cleaner sound but also a lot more manipulated and full of even more effects.
