That's crazy that they demonetized you, gave no reason. But they allow political channels of all stripes to do and say whatever they want. NOT COOL RUclips!!!
Welcome back! The '68 Charger was the best-looking Charger, imo. The Buick GS 455 was great on the street, with all that low end torque. An awesome race between 2 classics...cheers! 👏🍻
Nice to see realistic times from the muscle cars. I think nostalgia has colored our memories of these cars, making us think they were faster than they really were. Love tp see them racing!!
If the Stage 1,s were the Hemi Killers, i guess the standard 455,s were the 440 Killers ! Those 455 Buicks were no joke, especially Stage 1 equipped GS,s and GSX,s. And so glad to see you back.
Good to have you back, was wondering where you went. I took a hiatus too, just because winter was booooooooring. My older brother and the one right after me both have Chargers, 70 and 69 respectively. Neither of them have been driven in over 35 years. They were cheap to buy in the mid 1980s, nobody wanted them back then. Oldest isn't going to do anything with his, the younger is fixing his so he can drive it.
I bought a 1970 455 GS when I was 17 years old. I went from driving a 64 3 on the tree Plymouth Valiant slant 6, to this beast. Almost wrecked it on the way home after I purchased it. Raced it often on the street and surprised a lot of built rods. I wish that I knew what I had back then. Would have never sold it.
Welcome back and thank you for this classic duel! So bummed the Charger lost! Don't underestimate those big block Buicks even though I'm a Mopar fan all the way through! Glad you're back Cara and Zebras! 🤗

Nice to see you back man! Always loved your content. That sucks about RUclips demonetizing your videos but then again RUclips’s pretty much known for making awful decisions and never explaining why.
I was at the track last year in September 2023. I saw this match up myself. I know the driver of the charger and he (specifically) told me that he missed a gear in the second run which then led to the tie-breaking third run. It can only be said that it was the Buick's day on that particular run. Both cars were evenly matched power-wise, weight-wise etc. I have personally seen my friend turn a best of 13.60 set up just as you see it in the video. Typically, his charger runs 13.80's-13.90's when things all come together. It seems that the 4-speed unit requires just the right finesse by the driver. In the past, the unit he has was called the "spaghetti-shifter" so, it wasn't exactly the most efficient unit put in place for manual owners. Still in all, my friend fares generally quite well against most foes despite using a manual. However, a well-tuned car (opponent) with a quicker reaction time or speedier shifting (here and there) does take the win. I respect both cars and their drivers for putting forth their best that day although, my heart is with the charger for its "bad to the bone" looks !
I had a 68 R/T back in the mid 70's.. belonged to a buddy.. it got hit in the rear quarter panel and was a write off by the insurance company. The car drove great tho with no issues except the ugly damage. I think the pay out from the insurance was like $500 lol the car was white with a green vinyl top and green interior (not as bad as it sounds) it was a 440 automatic and would burn the tires till .. well.. forever. Really liked that car even with the damage. Now I own a 2014 Kings county Sheriff hemi R/T 345" 5 speed auto with 107,000 miles on it. 370 hp (maybe a tad more with my simple mods) the car is pretty much the same specs as my old 68 but more suited to my 70 year old immature nature lol 161 mph top speed. a tad better quarter mile time. Four Doors... who would think I would want 4 doors but it is great! Black with 'make night day' spotlights Every bit as mean looking in its way as the 68 was. This car handles better than the original (independent rear) and gets up to.... (when my girlfriend drives it for a while) 26 MPG The brakes? I bought a 1970 Buick GS 455 back in 1978 for only $700. That car today in the same condition would be worth $70,000 today. Mine was Fire Engine red with a white vinal top, and a white interior. It had bucket seats, center console shift with a T400 Auto. I ran that thing at OCIR back in the late 70's to mid 80's for fun, but never really thrashing it hard. I traded it in 1988 for a 1985 Chevy K30 1-ton 4X4 truck. Today that Chevy truck would only be worth $30,000, but the GS would be worth more than two times that.
It seems like to me that the 68 charger should have mopped up on that Buick and it didn't. I know that the Buick 455 is no slouch but it's not even a stage one and the Buick is heavier with less I don't get it but then that's okay.

The Buick GS 455 had 350hp and 510 lbft.? Makes it obvious which number is actually doing the work!
Both gorgeous cars and they put on a great race! Thanks for the great video.
Awesome matchup. Hats off to the driver of rhe Buick who was wicked consistent. Looked like the Charger missed 2nd gear in 2nd race which is too bad
