I don't think I did the officer move correctly. "Up" means toward the top of the map. I catch it but then talk myself into the same move. I believe to be correct his first move would have taken him to the OBJ hex and then his second move would have him in the woods since the bunker gave no mortar targets. No big deal, we'll explain it away as the fog of war. I outright kill Pt. Lopez when he is hit instead of injuring him. I catch it later. He should also be pinned which I add before the start of the final video. I think I'm really messing up the enemy move rules. The rifleman on the last turn was supposed to move to best cover which would have been the bunker instead of the woods. I need to pay more careful attention to that. I guess I'm using my own optional 'more aggressive' enemy rules?
I'm really enjoying this game John. Can't wait to see how it turns out. As you say, I think you caught most of the little errors, none of which was a big deal really. Just one thing - when you rolled A + A, you placed two Rifle guys with Grenade Launchers. They are actually Cs not As. It makes a difference because when they activate and roll 3 or 4 they use their Grenade Launchers! Also, note that a Pinned or Injured Leader gets fewer Orders. When Sykes was Pinned he should only have had a flat 2 Orders, meaning he needs another (more senior) Leader to Rally him. On tactics, I think you became a little overly concerned with the left bunker when actually those guys are not stopping you from taking the objective. Some of those Fire Orders might have been better used to move up the right side of the map, which you did discuss. I still think you could do this if you advance from behind the Higher Ground to stay out of the LMG fire and then try to Assault, preferably by moving a soldier twice in one turn using two different leaders. It's a tough one, but there's still a chance... Thanks again for showing off the game. All the best, Mike
Thanks Mike. I actually had my enemy rifleman separated by grenade and launchers but I guess I just wanted to make it harder. :) Luckily I dispatched them before that hurt me. Sykes is a troublemaker, can't roll well normally and then takes more when he shouldn't. I do it again in the final video but catch it this time. It's all right there on the sequence of play but I speed ahead in excitement instead of taking things step by step. Those guys in the bunker really did well with distracting me from my goal. This game is dripping with tactics considerations and I'm loving it.
@@UncleFloydWing Thanks John - I have to say I think it is my own favourite of my games now! I'm already designing the next 'Rifle Squad' game, and I've never done a sequel so soon after releasing the original before - I just love the play testing! Cheers.
@@mikelambosolitairebookgames We have that in common then. If you need any help with play testing just let me know. Though I'm such a fan boy at the moment I probably wouldn't bring much value.
I wouldn't see why not. I had an idea to combine all 3 landing maps side by side, make 2 more sets of counters, and go crazy. Normally if a German would activate off map you reroll, but in this case I'd allow it to activate on another map if that's where it ended up. Probably restrict the US to their own sector map. I'd expect it to generate some carnage. Of course, this is a ways off for me and depends on my graphics skills for making separate unique US squads.

@@UncleFloydWing Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind 👍🏻
What a cool little game. Do you think it would scale at all if you doubled the map size, for example?
