Beautifully done Sean and Emily! I was planning to hold comments until the final Ireland video, but I couldn't help but stop and write. I was in Ireland in 2015 for about a week and it rained most of the time, but I still enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I wasn't on a motorcycle trip, but I did get to see a lot of the countryside. Your videos so far have given me views that I never would have been able to see. I absolutely love the commentary, ride along video and the drone footage. The music is so good that I have copied much of it just to have a listen at a later time. I was primarily in the Cork area, specifically Kenmare and the southern portion. Your videos and commentary are outstanding...some of the best I have had the privilege of watching. Here's to an amazing couple and future trips. Well done my friends!
Hi Jim, thanks so much for your comment!! It's great to hear you enjoyed the episode and the Heading West Playlist so far. Great that you have been able to visit Ireland too, it's true that even with bad weather it's always a great experience. Thanks again for your kind words, it really means a lot to us when people like yourself take the time to show their appreciation for the effort that goes into making these -it really encourages us to make more. We are looking forwards to hearing what you think about the other places we visit in Ireland and then Scotland as these countries have so much to offer. Thank you so much! That must have been incredible to see those eagles! The Gap of Dunloe is full of surprises-glad the video brought back good memories for you. ❤️
That was really excellent Sean and Em! Very timely, as we’re going back to Ireland at the end of August to do the Gap of Dunloe - we’d heard about the horse and carts - guess we’ll have to set off early! Thanks again 😀👍
Don't ride the gap of dungloe without first travelling a few mile further down the road from Molls gap and taking a right turn for Ballaghbeama Gap, travel to the end of this and turn around and come back through it till you join the A road, turn left unto the A road back for molls Gap for 100mtrs and take a left down a single track , this will lead you to the first of the lakes of the black valley and will join further up with the road Sean and Emily were on, this is a gravel track with grass in the middle but safe. enjoy. better late in the evening when the golden hour casts it's shadows and the horse carts are finished for the day, slow and take it all in !
Hi, thanks very much!! 😊 That's great, we are sure you will have a great time. It's such a fun country to ride and lots of fun off the bike too. Can imagine the horse and carts must crowd that road towards midday so for sure get there early and you should be fine. Hope you have a great trip! 😊👍
Hi Robert, thanks very much -kind of iused to it after all these miles 😊 but in truth the bike handles really well and is easy to ride -even fully loaded. Great to hear you are enjoying the videography. 👍
Yeah i bet that was fun! There's something more enjoyable about riding a small bike to 100% of it's limit than riding a big bike to fraction of it's limit. A really beautiful part of the country 😊
Yeah for sure one for the list, really enjoyed this road. There is also lots of other similar ones in the area if one has more time. Thanks for watching. 😎👍
Thanks guys for some incredible footage. It's been invaluable to our planning for the WAW and looking forward to riding these roads on Harleys late August. I'm only new to your channel but love the down to earth approach and your video work is second to none. Enjoy the rest of your trip. 🏍👌

Been visiting Ireland since the late 70s (I’m old!) but I’ve missed so much, I’m fast filling up ‘places to go’ on Google maps. Already planning next years trip through Wales north to south and then the southern part of the WAW around to Tralee. Did the north to south section in beautiful weather in 2018. Fellow RUclipsr the Likeable Rider (another Sean) has been doing a similar trip as yours, he’s enjoyed himself too.👍 PS. Love the editing, I’m just starting my video editing as a lover of travel and photography.

Also, any time my family visited the Gap of Dunloe, we would do it from the side you did but in the late evening. Horses are finished up, most tourists have gone and you have the place to yourselves.
Hi Ruud, yeah a really scenic road and really atmospheric with the colours of the land. Yeah it was tight at times but I think you would be okay with the sidecar. 😎👍
A wilderness of sorts, but still beautiful. I don't know if these videos are in "real time" or not, but Galway to Spiddal and across to Maam Cross and on to Killery Fjord is a lovely scenic road too.
Hi Nigel, thanks for the tips! These are not in real time as they would take too long to make on the road and need a powerful computer to process the 4k footage. We do take a very similar route to the one you suggest, so that's great to hear that it was your recommendation! Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy the rest of the Heading West Series. 😎👍
Hello both, I am really enjoying this series and also the commentary of interesting facts. One question is how do you get both of you on the video as tried several things and doesn't work. Thanks for taking us with you and ride safe.
Hi, thanks for watching and we are glad to hear you are enjoying the videos. We have a front mounted camera as you have probably already seen and Emily has a camera at the back too which she is constantly adjusting to suit whatever shot we need. 😎👍
I'd do the Gap of Dunloe and Black Valley again and again, love it there. Did it in a Ford Mondeo last year and bike this year, you certainly have to be a confident driver to do it in a car, there are some really narrow parts an theres one hair pin bend near the big lake that is particularly tight, driving it wasnt a problem for me, we passed a few people that clearly shouldn't have been driving on those roads.
It's a great drive isn't it! Yeah easily doable in a car for sure but could be a right pain with traffic when it gets busy, i think a lot of visitors don't realize how narrow the roads are and get themselves in a spot of bother as they don't have roads like this in their home countries .
They get off the horse and carts to walk a bit if the road ….either that or the horse was struggling on the uphill section. Glad you enjoyed it 😎👍🏻 Full playlist of UK and Ireland: ruclips.net/p/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=FvhPRRpTnwfnYkpK
I've planned this road in to the end of my 'Ring of Kerry' day... Starting and finishing at Kenmare. I decided that this would be a better route than the lakes of Killarney... I may add them on to the end of the 'Mountain ride'.
Hi, yeah we had planned this route too for the same day at the Ring of Kerry (see link in pinned comment) but as it started to rain we came back in the morning. It doesn't need much time and it's well worth it! Hope you have a great trip too! 👍
I went in September and out of the whole of the wild Atlantic way I was disappointed with the ring of Kerry, not as beautiful and the loads of coaches. Gap of Dunloe I wish I watched your vid before because the time I went over there were trap after trap, cyclists, walkers and horse poo on damp roads, although stunning I couldn’t enjoy as I’d liked.. keep up the great vids..
Hi, yeah can imagine it was busy in September. As nice as the ring of Kerry was there were lots of other parts that we enjoyed more.
@SeanandEmily Sorry to ask another but how do you do the audio?
Wireless Microphones from DJI 😉
Where are these people walking to or from there is nothing about, love the drone shots.
They get off the horse and carts to walk a bit if the road ….either that or the horse was struggling on the uphill section.
Glad you enjoyed it 😎👍🏻

The Kerry cliffs were spectacular though (just off the ring of Kerry). Sorry you didn’t have the same Gap of Dunloe experience-early morning is definitely the way to go.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks 😊
