What is the difference between an absolute pressure sensor and a relative pressure sensor? Relative pressure measurement is used when overpressure has to be measured. Absolute pressure measurement is used when, for example, a process runs under vacuum in a reactor and the pressure has to be monitored there.

Absolute pressure = atmosphere + vessel pressure. With absolute pressure transmitters, this means that both the atmospheric pressure and the pressure in the vessel are acting on the diaphragm. With the relative pressure transmitter, only the vessel pressure acts on the diaphragm. Do you have more questions?.
