    Thank you for another great video! May I suggest an idea for a video on growing native plants for attracting beneficial insects in the garden? There is lots of advice on such plants that are mostly found in Europe and North America, but there is very little information on plants that are native to the Indian sub-continent.

    I have a question?
    AchayaBalkrishna of Patanjali has recently claimed, that they have compiled around 8 thousands of herbal medicinal plants.,that they had grown or discovered from Himalayas.
    As a Botanist and nature scientist, can you verify how far is it true?
    I am very curious, if the Western people can creat iPhones, and internet, how could they not pioneered such work?
    Thanks for all your quality knowledge uploadings.

    • @GardeningismyPassion
      @GardeningismyPassion  5 лет назад +7

      Thanks. Though I am not a Botanist it is true that most of the herbal medicines don't have any medicinal importance at all.
      Very few have efficacy. They may have recorded a couple of thousand of plants but very few Wii prove to be helpful.
      However , India gets lots of sunlight and sufficient water ideal for growing plants.
      Big number is therefore not a surprise !

    Mr Abideen Turky.
    My best regards and warm greetings !
    Western Civilization and their competence was nothing in comparison to the Asian/Arabian one. Our science was the most developed and at peak when the western world started progressing. We had good penetration in every field, being purely science based.
    Your questionnaire has two parts :
    1. Acharya Balkrishna has claimed to have collected and grown more than thousand herbal medicinal plants from Himalayas. It may be right or may be wrong because, undoubtedly, they grown many many medicinal/herbal plants, their exact number or origin from Himalayas cannot be guaranteed but they are constantly into some form of research on plants for the benefit of the mankind.
    2. If the western world has made progress in materialistic gadgets and items, where is it mentioned that they will excel in other fields too or Asian Arabian countries can't excel ? Are they less competent than the western people ? It's a matter of interest, penetration and State Policy.
    For everyone's information, every plant on earth has some medicinal/herbal value, differing in quality and quantity, some bearing maximum and some minimum. So the real matter lies in deciphering the code of medicinal property.
    Cinchona bark has quinine for malaria treatment, Harsingar flower's orange stamen has role in treatment of piles, Sita Ashok plant has myriad of medicinal properties including the treatment of bleeding control in menses etc.

    • @abideenturky
      @abideenturky 5 лет назад +3

      Thanks for showing interest in this subject of paramount importance, which has created a lot myths and confusion.
      You are partly right about the contribution of Eastern Civilization into scientific research of the past.
      If we go back into history, before European Renaissance, when Europe was really primitive and new World of American Continent was yet to be discovered, science,technology, medicine etc originated at Asia Minore, (Egypt, Greec,Iraq,Persia etc), From there ,it was moved by Alexander to Europ, as well as Indian Subcontinent and China. Although,India and China were Cradle of Civilization too.
      But all this History. The real Surge of Scientific progress got great momentum after industrial Revolution of Europe, the so called Renaissance. When New World was discovered, the Europeans Shifted most of Researches over there, where a Climax of Scientific progress constantly took the world into an unprecedented level. From then onwards, the rest of the world has totally forgotten their glorious pass, and now simply Copy and steal the second grade technology from the West.
      Therefore, I am deeply skeptical and doubtful about Baba Ramdev and Achary Balkrishna claim of their Herbsl Encyclopedia Compilation.
      Moreover,the reductional molecules of any plants,or herbs have little role to play in causation of Disease or Healing from Sicknesses. I believe, Sicknesses are created by our mind(failure of immune defense systems),and therefore restoration of health occurs by our mind or consciousness, through restoration of same immune mechanisms. Wrong foods , chemical pharmaceuticals, wong herbs can seriously damage our organs, but the ultimate healing (if not damaged beyond repair),is the critical role of our minds. Therefore, half-doctors like AchayaBalkrishna will seriously mislead the health care system from natural healthy lifestyle practices, into false notion that the herbal extracts of Patanjali are the ultimate panacea of all modern Sicknesses. To me, they are nothing, but another pharmaceutical Mafia, in the guise of Hindustani coverage.

    • @lokeshgaur3232
      @lokeshgaur3232 5 лет назад +1

      @@abideenturky I accept Sir whatever you said.
      But Acharya Balkrishna and allies are working on the science of herbal medicine dating back to era of Vedas) Ayurveda, the oldest era when no Europe/America/Renaissance ever existed. This science of herbal medicine was based on a continuous search and research by the renowned sages and great souls who were indulged in constant interaction with the nature and nature products.
      European/American/Western world when emerged were primitive tribals initially who gradually got civilized, progressed and went into a steady state development of science and technology, pharmaceuticals, research into molecular sciences but based upon proper findings and concrete results that could be propagated.
      In nut shell, western world civilization emerged successfully being based on experimental results that could be propagated and shown to be true again and again and received Noble Prizes for the same but how many recipies and formulas were stolen by them from the ancient literature, nobody knows.
      Acharya Balkrishna and people like him want to bring into the limelight of this world the ancient treasure of herbal medicine that existed long time before during an era of one of the highest development of science and technology when no super powers like America or Europe existed and the centre of such civilization was Indian subcontinent stretching from Indonesia-Burma-Sri Lanka-Present divided India-Nepal-Pakistan-Afghanistan-upto Arabia. These names also didn't existed. It was Pan India.
      Today western world is after Indian ways of living and their cultural heritages and legacies. They are so much in fears that they getting original indigenous Indian herbs/flora and fauna patented putting a ban on the free use/application of nature assets of India by the Indians themselves.
      History has been the proof of highest development of science and technology in Indian Subcontinent, stolen by others, who were initially totally uncivilized, junglees and hunted animals for meeting their end but now profess to be highly civilized and developed.
