I guess ESL in the public school did not work out too well or some of them left the school system "semi-fluent." Thus this Army programs comes though and finally elevates the applicant to full proficiency. I guess that's it.

Shipping to Ft Sill under the FLRI program in July, my concern is that after I finish everything and take the asvab and all of that , if an opt 40 contract will be available by that time.

I will ship September 30th for the ESL program I got 95 ASVAB and 71 in ECLT and i got enlisted for 68K. I have a question for you: do i need to retake the ASVAB like FLRI program or i just need to study English and pass ECLT with 75 and above?
I would imagine you’ll just have to retest the ECLT but I’m confident you’ll pass the re-ASVAB if they require it. This video explains everything in detail. Open only OCT-MAR and signs up through this at time of contracting. This is done prior to BCT, as described within the video.
Depending on your new line scores, if you still qualify for the MOS in which you enlisted as, you’ll be good to go. But, if your Line Scores decrease or no longer qualify for the MOS enlisted, you’ll negotiate a new MOS. Make sense?

My main issues with English is speaking it because I can’t pronounce certain words and also can't understand English-speaking people when they talk too fast. I'm sure that if I take the ECLT I can pass it because I understand the language and also can write it without issue as you can see. Do you think I can go to English school even if I pass the ECLT?
My advice is don’t do so great on the ECLT. I’ve had applicants screw themselves over by doing well on the written portion of the ECLT. Applicants like you are not uncommon. Book smart and understand but don’t speak it fluently or lack the conversational skills due to lack of practice. My advice to you is to read a book out loud 15-30 per day and only speak English with people who speak English. Could I score low just to get in and qualify for the program ? Because at this point in my life the army is what I need and at times desperate measure are needed! And I’m not getting any younger! I’m older at 27...
If you fail the ASVAB Test and meet the other requirements within this video, try to qualify for this program but you’ll have to dumb down your answers to score low enough to get the required ECLT test. Problem most immigrants or English as a second language applicant is there written and understanding is phenomenal but just simply don’t speak it very wells hence giving them a score too high on the ECLT. Make sense?

If you go active duty, possible… It has to be one of those languages that qualifies for it and it would require you to pass and oral and written exam to receive credit for the language.

What if i'm university student but not perfect at English? I probably can get enough score to go directly to boot camp but what If I want to learn english more before going to basic training? Does my contract duration start after finishing this program? It seems after this program applicants can only choose few MOS like 11X.. sad
Sounds like the 11X requirement is strictly an Active Duty Requirement because if you’re going Guard, it’s not specific to MOS. As long as you have the line scores needed and remain eligible for that MOS at the completion of the FLRI Program, you’re enlisting into the MOS you contracted for. Now, as far as not doing the FLRI and enlisting as a CAT4 will not afford you the opportunity to get paid and learn English as one would during the FLRI Program. You are more than welcome to look into other ways to learn English. Such as but not limited to: -College Courses -ESL Courses In-Person/Virtual (Online) -Online/Apps English courses like Rosettastone, DuoLingo, etc… -Look up ESL Topics/Classes on RUclips -Watch Tv in English with English subtitles -Read English Magazines/Books and look up words you don’t know -Speak strictly English with friends and/or family -Write in a Journal in English how you day went everyday These are just a few that come to mind on how one can improve upon there foriegn language learning like English. My case is exactly the same as you, I am in college but my English is not that perfect. Sometimes it is hard to me understanding what the drill sargents are talking about, mainly when they are yelling. When I enlisted the ARMY, my recruiter just told me dont worry about it, you will learn English in basic training. Haha, guess what. My graduation from boot camp is in 2 weeks, I can say my communication skills have improved just a little bit. However, I try to speak english as much as I can with everybody in my platoon. I hope to be a little more fluently in English after AIT. My advice, dont overthink your goals. By the way, I scored 39 in the ASVAB in the very first try.
Get your official HS Diploma and Official High School Transcripts. Get them translated if needed and evaluated. Your recruiter can let you know where you can get that done. My husband is in this program but they are trying to force him to take 11X MOS. He qualifies for other jobs but they aren’t trying to offer anything else. The program is great if you don’t mind being infantry. What are our options as far as not accepting what they offer? What can we tell them or how to negotiate for a better MOS?
Well, if he’s not willing to serve they may discharge him or send him anyway to the infantry school and if he fails to adapt or successfully get MOS Qualified, discharge him from there. He must be active duty because they are locked into an MOS for National Guard within their state unless they do worse on the ASVAB Retest during the FLRI Program. Active Duty is always based on the needs of the Army. I’d say have him stick to whichever MOS he’s otherwise eligible for and see if they cave in and give him what he wants. Hope this helps…

If you have a high school diploma from your country and after we get it translated and evaluated and determined it meets the USA’s equivalency, you can use that credential to satisfy your education requirement to join. Thanks for watching!
You won’t have access like that to monitor when USCIS responds online. Once they do you have 30 days to respond. Don’t, and you’ll be required to start the process all over again. Better off applying after AIT/OSUT. More to follow in an upcoming video!

I’m not sure what your unique situation is but the FLRI isn’t MOS Specific. It’s for those who’ve failed the ASVAB but otherwise qualified and given an opportunity to learn English because English isn’t their primary language.
Lol Unlike the AD/Reserve Army, in the Guard we have a pre-BCT program called Recruit Sustainment Program or RSP for short. So our Warriors come in one weekend per month until they ship in paid status. They’ll conduct the OPAT/ACFT and motivation PT. Classes as well ranging from mandatory classes, watered down classes they’ll receive at BCT and what to expectation BCT with warriors that came back before they officially report to their units. They conduct a Q&A Session based on their experience in BCT/AIT or OSUT. So I am a DS during that weekend and my full time job is as a Recruiter.
Direct Deposit after it’s been taxed and typically takes about 30-60 days to process. After 2mo notify your unit admin to track the payment issue... the unit has to initiate the payment or else it won’t process. I’d give them. Friendly reminder no earlier the a day after your eligibility date too.

first I did a basic test that I passed, then I did another test with 145 questions and I didn't get the necessary score because I was very poorly oriented and after my result I didn't have anyone to tell me the next step to follow! a little confused, sorry for that! lol 🤦🏽♀️

Limited usage if at Ft Sill Reception waiting to go to TX for the ESL training. There is a current back log but recently been expanding a virtual ESL Training classes which has been proven to be successful. For the Guard you’re locked in for a MOS unless no longer eligible based on your test results at the end of your ELS Training. AD I believe based on what I’ve researched is the same or based on the needs of the Army at that time.

Depending on your new line scores, if you still qualify for the MOS in which you enlisted as, you’ll be good to go. But, if your Line Scores decrease or no longer qualify for the MOS enlisted, you’ll negotiate a new MOS. Make sense?

My main issues with English is speaking it because I can’t pronounce certain words and also can't understand English-speaking people when they talk too fast. I'm sure that if I take the ECLT I can pass it because I understand the language and also can write it without issue as you can see. Do you think I can go to English school even if I pass the ECLT?
My advice is don’t do so great on the ECLT. I’ve had applicants screw themselves over by doing well on the written portion of the ECLT. Applicants like you are not uncommon. Book smart and understand but don’t speak it fluently or lack the conversational skills due to lack of practice. My advice to you is to read a book out loud 15-30 per day and only speak English with people who speak English. Hey bro! I became a US resident in 2015... I speak English fluent and also got my HS Diploma.. first language was Spanish.. could I qualify for this program ?? I want to join the army desperately ! It’s been my goal ever since I graduated HS but never could because I wasn’t a resident and did not become one until 2015...
Could I score low just to get in and qualify for the program ? Because at this point in my life the army is what I need and at times desperate measure are needed! And I’m not getting any younger! I’m older at 27...
If you fail the ASVAB Test and meet the other requirements within this video, try to qualify for this program but you’ll have to dumb down your answers to score low enough to get the required ECLT test. Problem most immigrants or English as a second language applicant is there written and understanding is phenomenal but just simply don’t speak it very wells hence giving them a score too high on the ECLT. Make sense?

If you go active duty, possible… It has to be one of those languages that qualifies for it and it would require you to pass and oral and written exam to receive credit for the language.

Does my contract duration start after finishing this program? It seems after this program applicants can only choose few MOS like 11X.. sad
Sounds like the 11X requirement is strictly an Active Duty Requirement because if you’re going Guard, it’s not specific to MOS. As long as you have the line scores needed and remain eligible for that MOS at the completion of the FLRI Program, you’re enlisting into the MOS you contracted for.
Now, as far as not doing the FLRI and enlisting as a CAT4 will not afford you the opportunity to get paid and learn English as one would during the FLRI Program. You are more than welcome to look into other ways to learn English. Such as but not limited to:
-College Courses
-ESL Courses In-Person/Virtual (Online)
-Online/Apps English courses like Rosettastone, DuoLingo, etc…
-Look up ESL Topics/Classes on RUclips
-Watch Tv in English with English subtitles
-Read English Magazines/Books and look up words you don’t know
-Speak strictly English with friends and/or family
-Write in a Journal in English how you day went everyday

My case is exactly the same as you, I am in college but my English is not that perfect. Sometimes it is hard to me understanding what the drill sargents are talking about, mainly when they are yelling. When I enlisted the ARMY, my recruiter just told me dont worry about it, you will learn English in basic training. Haha, guess what. My graduation from boot camp is in 2 weeks, I can say my communication skills have improved just a little bit. However, I try to speak english as much as I can with everybody in my platoon. I hope to be a little more fluently in English after AIT. My advice, dont overthink your goals. By the way, I scored 39 in the ASVAB in the very first try.

Get your official HS Diploma and Official High School Transcripts. Get them translated if needed and evaluated. Your recruiter can let you know where you can get that done. My husband is in this program but they are trying to force him to take 11X MOS. He qualifies for other jobs but they aren’t trying to offer anything else. The program is great if you don’t mind being infantry. What are our options as far as not accepting what they offer? What can we tell them or how to negotiate for a better MOS?
Well, if he’s not willing to serve they may discharge him or send him anyway to the infantry school and if he fails to adapt or successfully get MOS Qualified, discharge him from there. He must be active duty because they are locked into an MOS for National Guard within their state unless they do worse on the ASVAB Retest during the FLRI Program. Active Duty is always based on the needs of the Army. I’d say have him stick to whichever MOS he’s otherwise eligible for and see if they cave in and give him what he wants. Hope this helps…

Depends on how soon you want to join and if you think it will improve your lines scores. Line scores drive the MOS List and opportunities, not the AFQT Score.

You won’t have access like that to monitor when USCIS responds online. Once they do you have 30 days to respond. Don’t, and you’ll be required to start the process all over again. Better off applying after AIT/OSUT. More to follow in an upcoming video!

I’m not sure what your unique situation is but the FLRI isn’t MOS Specific. It’s for those who’ve failed the ASVAB but otherwise qualified and given an opportunity to learn English because English isn’t their primary language.

Lol Unlike the AD/Reserve Army, in the Guard we have a pre-BCT program called Recruit Sustainment Program or RSP for short. So our Warriors come in one weekend per month until they ship in paid status. They’ll conduct the OPAT/ACFT and motivation PT. Classes as well ranging from mandatory classes, watered down classes they’ll receive at BCT and what to expectation BCT with warriors that came back before they officially report to their units. They conduct a Q&A Session based on their experience in BCT/AIT or OSUT. So I am a DS during that weekend and my full time job is as a Recruiter.

There is a current back log but recently been expanding a virtual ESL Training classes which has been proven to be successful. For the Guard you’re locked in for a MOS unless no longer eligible based on your test results at the end of your ELS Training. AD I believe based on what I’ve researched is the same or based on the needs of the Army at that time.
